Week #6 of Marking Period 3

Greetings Jackrabbits!

This week we are in appreciation of our phenomenal school counselors Mrs. Castillo, Mr. Chavez, and Mrs. C Gonzalez, communities in school coordinator. Please help us recognize and show some love for the impact they play in student academic success and social emotional learning. Together they play other important roles such as helping in planning for scholars' futures.

Students in grades 3rd through 5th will be testing with 6 week checkpoints. I do ask that your child be in attendance more so this week due to much needed instructional time and assessments. Attendance continues to be our focus. Below you will see weekly attendance percentages. The goal for elementary campuses is 97% or higher. Our attendance committee with meet this Friday to discuss those on the cusp of losing credit for the year. Please reach out to our administrators if there are any questions.

On Friday, Feb. 9th we will be seeking Math Bee student representation from kindergarten through fifth grades. Good luck to those who will be competing in our annual event.

A salute to our campus' top fundraisers with the Kid's Heart Challenge campaign. See the information provided below with link to make a donation that can save a life. Families on campus continue to surpass our goal. Your donations go a long way.

Outstanding cafeteria balances have increase once again and now totaling $3,800 dollars. Please contact Ms. Parra, our cafeteria cashier at (915) 938-2816 for an account balance. Some students have hundreds of dollars in fines. We do need your assistance in getting to a zero balance. Payments are always welcomed as we are sensitive to your family's budget. Thank you so much for your support!

Thank you for entrusting our team with serving your child(ren).

At your service,

Fernando L. Miranda

School Principal

We have received several calls regarding PK3/PK4 Compulsory Attendance. Below is some clarification:

  • Compulsory Attendance applies to ALL students upon enrollment regardless of age, please see snip of FEA(legal) below. This policy is tied to truancy therefore, if the student has 10 or more unexcused absences during a 6 month period, the parent is subject to a referral to truancy court.

We are entering the lowest months for good attendance due to upper respiratory infections and flu like symptoms. Please send healthy students to school daily.

Friendly Reminder: All students from Pre-Kinder through Fifth Grades are held accountable to state compulsory attendance rules. Although pre-k and kindergarten are not mandated by the state of Texas, once enrolled in school, parents are held accountable for their child's daily attendance. Both excused and unexcused absences are still seen as days out of school. All students are responsible to make up lost instructional times. Let us know if there are any questions or concerns. We are here to assist you!

Perfect Attendance Incentives:

Students who are in attendance from Monday through Fridays will have the chance to wear free dress on the proceeding Monday. Please adhere to our acceptable student dress code when wearing free dress. Other incentives will be available throughout the school year. No torn or frayed jeans are allowed at any time.

Early Pickups:

For Doctor's Appointments:

Pick up your children before 1:00 PM.

For PK & Kinder:

Scholars should be picked no later than 2:00 PM.

For 1st-5th Grade:
