Happy Friday!! Let's celebrate a great week!

From the Principal's Mind...

Dear Grizzly Families,

Thank you for your generous and spirited support of our Jogathon. It was great fun celebrating with our families. Every dollar raised goes directly to our school to provide resources to classrooms and for our students. Thank you so much!

Our Jogathon winners were so excited to win! Each of our students should have come back with some coupons and offers to thank them for their participation in our PTA fundraiser. Stay tuned for how our student leaders want me to celebrate our fundraising efforts. In the past few years, I've had to sing some Taylor Swift (in costume) at a Friday Wrap Up and I've had to spend a day on the roof. I can't wait to find out what's in store for me this year - our kids are creative and like to have some fun!

Watch for us in the Reporter Herald. We've continued to work on our school wide art project, creating pottery butterflies and today the RH came in to take pictures and talk to our students (and Carolyn Pearce) our artist. Even Mrs. Javernick was in to enjoy the special project with us.

What a great week it was! Mrs. McClure, Mrs. Knapp, and so many other wonderful volunteers have begun their consistent support in our building. Our volunteers make such a difference here! Thank YOU!!

You most likely have already received an invitation for Parent Teacher Conferences from your child's teacher(s) via Class Dojo. We love having the opportunity to connect with each of our families. It's an opportunity for you to share information that would help us as we support your child as well as a chance for us to celebrate the learning that has already begun for the year. This Friday, October 9th, there is no school for students. Teachers will be hard at work organizing information and preparing for parent teacher conferences. The following week, October 15th and 16th, there will be no school for students on Thursday and Friday so that we CAN meet and connect with each of our families in the evenings and through Thursday. Teachers will have an exchange day on Friday in trade for the evenings of work already put in.

As always, If you need anything, call, send me a private message via Class Dojo, or email at kathy.sather@tsd.org. Partnering together to benefit kids is important to us here!

Meal Benefits: Do I need to fill it out? Yes!

All families are still highly encouraged to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.

Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district. Applications are available to all households at school sites and online at linqconnect.com. Applications need to be completed annually (after mid-July) for the new school year. The information provided on the application is confidential and is not shared without your consent.

Linq Connect is your “one stop shop” for information and resources including menus, student meal accounts and household income / meal eligibility applications. It’s easy to register – just go to linqconnect.com to get started. You may also access information through

the main TSD website by clicking on Departments and Nutrition Services.
