Good Evening Tigers,

Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Pfeiffer who was named Ragsdale's Teacher of the Year this Friday. Mrs. Pfeiffer is an Art Teacher who is supports Ragsdale students inside and outside the classroom. She is a staff leader for Student Government, a coach for Flag Football, coordinates Prom, and supports Ragsdale in any way she can! Way to go Mrs. Pfeiffer and well deserved!

Starting this week, all rising Ragsdale students will meet with a counselor to talk about registration for next year. This will continue through the month of March. Please see this newsletter for potential registration options.

Calling Senior Parents! We will have a Senior Picnic Parent Meeting Monday, February 24 at 5:30pm in the Media Center. Come on out and find out how you can support our Class of 2025 Picnic!

We will have our Parent Night for all rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade families on Wednesday, February 26th at 5:15! Dinner is provided! Please RSVP with the link in this newsletter or call the counseling office so that we can plan accordingly. Ragsdale Staff will be present to answer questions about classes, and we will cover information about registration, planning out the remaining years of high school, and planning for life after high school.

Select seniors will take the ACT WorkKeys assessment this week. Seniors are eligible to take this assessment at no charge if they are a Career and Technical Education Pathway completer. WorkKeys measures skills required for success in the workplace. Students who score high enough earn a cord to wear for graduation and an endorsement on their transcript.

Also this week is the 4th Annual Ragsdale's Got Talent will be held this Friday, February 28th starting at 7:00 in the auditorium. Cost is $8.00. Come out and support our Talented Tigers!

Students can submit 3 original poems to Mrs. Gronwald and the top 3 finalists will be invited to writing workshops and poetry readings. The selected poet laureate receives their poems published in a chapter book with other poets in GCS. Poems are due to by Monday March 3rd.

Parents/Guardians will use the form to request access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, request assistance with creating an account, or have their password reset. The State Employees Credit Union (SECU) People Helping People Scholarship is valued at $10,000 and awarded over (up to) eight consecutive semesters to pay for tuition and fees. It is available to graduating public high school Seniors who are either current members of SECU or the child of a parent/guardian who is a member of SECU at the time of application and plan on attending one of the 16 UNC System Universities as well as additional requirements. Guilford County Schools has been allotted 17 SECU Scholarships for the Class of 2025.
