It has been a great start to the school year! It is good to see all the students back in class, ready to learn. We look forward to a great school year!

Attendance Matters
Students should arrive at school by 8:40 a.m. to be in their classroom, ready to learn at 8:50 a.m.
Please set your child up for success by making a plan to be on time, every day. Classroom success and attendance are closely connected. Please see the attached attendance handout below.
Please leave a message on the attendance line when your child is absent or going to be late.

APEX
PTO APEX fun run campaign kicks off this week! This is the big fundraiser for the year. The APEX Fun Run is on Friday, September 26th. We invite you to come cheer your child on while they run!
Outdoor Run Schedule:
2 & 4 9:05 - 10:05
VPK, 3 & 5 10:20 – 11:20
VPK, K & 1 1:45 – 2:45
Indoor Run Schedule (in case of bad weather):
5th grade – 9:00am-9:45am
Kindergarten/PreK am – 9:50am-10:35am
1st grade – 10:40am-11:25am
3rd grade – 11:30am-12:15pm
4th grade – 1:00pm-1:45pm
2nd grade – 1:50pm-2:35pm

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Make sure you have your ParentVUE account active so you can sign up for conferences soon. The window for families to sign up is September 22-30. More information will be emailed out to you.
Conference dates are Oct. 7, 9 & 13. 7:50 - 8:30 AM & 3:40 - 7:00 PM
ParentVUE Back to School Forms
Please complete this before we start conference scheduling soon!
All families will complete back-to-school forms online through your ParentVUE account. The back to school forms is to verify that the information we have is accurate and up to date. This includes emergency contacts, family contact information, etc. This registration process may include your younger children, even though they are not enrolled in school yet.
Complete the required forms by logging into your ParentVUE account. You will be prompted to complete the back to school forms. On-screen prompts will then walk you through the back-to-school process.
Please complete this process early so there is no delay in you using your ParentVUE account to sign up for Conferences in September! Also, remember the photo denial does prohibit your child from being included in the school yearbook. Contact Staci in the school office if you have questions.
All back-to-school forms will be filled out online. Complete the necessary steps today by going to the ParentVUE system, which is accessible from the "Families" on the top right of any district or school website.

Educational Benefits - why should I apply?
it is still important for families to fill out the Educational Benefits application on EduTrakConnect to take advantage of several benefits available to families who meet income requirements, including free or discounted costs for the following:
- Field trips
- Band instruments
- Comcast internet for home
- Xcel Energy account assistance for electricity bills
Additionally, the state of Minnesota uses a school district's percentage of qualifying students from applications completed and approved prior to Oct. 1 each year to calculate each district's funding level. School district funding impacts class sizes, number of support staff the district can hire to help scholars and extra programming opportunities.
Please fill out the Educational Benefits application today to make sure your family can take advantage of these and other benefits!
