Coupeville Schools are Strong!
February is Kindness Month!
Dear Coupeville School District Families,
I want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your flexibility and understanding during this week's challenging weather conditions. Your support in adjusting to our schedule changes—including our two-hour delay, school closure, and managing the snowy dismissal—has been truly appreciated.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and your cooperation in following our modified schedules demonstrates the strong partnership we share in serving our students. It's this kind of community support that makes Coupeville School District such a special place for learning and growth.
Important Calendar Update Due to this week's school closure, we have made the following adjustment to our academic calendar:
- Friday, May 2, 2025, will now be a regular school day (previously scheduled as a non-school day)
We understand that schedule changes can impact family plans, and we appreciate your flexibility in accommodating this adjustment. This change ensures we maintain our required instructional hours and keep our students on track with their learning goals.
Please review the updated calendar below for the remainder of the school year and make note of this change. If you have any questions or concerns about the calendar adjustment, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's school office.
Thank you again for your continued support of our schools and your commitment to your children's education. The strength of our school community truly shines during challenging times like these.
Warm regards,
Shannon Leatherwood, Superintendent
Coupeville School District

A Dispatch from the School Farmer:
Before we leave January behind entirely, I wanted to highlight one more example of Coupeville Elementary students displaying the trait of courage. Garden classes last week had grades K-2 helping Ms. Andi make kale pesto (with kale from the school farm) that students sampled with pasta. We saw a lot of food courage in these classes, with the majority of students willing to taste the pesto, even if some ultimately decided "it's not for me".
