WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE LJH LIBRARY?
Greetings from the Junior High Media Center! As we transition into November, we’re reflecting on the fun and educational activities our library hosted in October. One of the highlights was our Spooky Library book display, which featured creepy classics, thrilling mysteries, and eerie tales that kept students turning pages all month long!
During November, we’re excited to launch a new reading initiative: “Leaf Through a Book Series.” 🍂 Our goal is to motivate students to dive into a new series and experience the excitement of following characters and stories that grow and evolve over multiple books. Reading a series helps build reading stamina, improves comprehension, and fosters a deeper connection to characters and themes. Plus, once students find a series they love, it often opens the door to a lifelong love of reading!
We’re also thrilled to share some library highlights from the past month:
📖 573 books were checked out in October!
🍎 Students continue to join us for Lunch Bunch, where they enjoy reading, socializing, and exploring new titles together.
🤝 Our library remains a hub for collaborative projects, independent study, and flexible learning opportunities across all grade levels.
Our most popular checkouts this month include graphic novels from the Dog Manand Amulet series, as well as novels like City of Bones and Coraline. It’s wonderful to see students exploring both illustrated adventures and engaging chapter books that stretch their imaginations.
As we “leaf” through November, we invite all students to find their next great series and start their reading journey—one book at a time!
