MPHS - Important Things to Know!
February 23, 2025
MPHS Students and Families,
Our Spring sports season begins tomorrow, February 24. We encourage all students to get involved in athletics or school activities! Studies show that students perform better in school, build strong time management skills, and stay connected to their school community. No previous experience is necessary! See more information below.
On Thursday, February 27, during Cougar Time we will begin preparing 9th-11th grade students to schedule their courses for next year. Teachers will provide important an important overview of the process and provide pertinent information. Students will have an opportunity to submit questions for school counselors. Our school counselors will then push into 2nd block classes to assist students in submitting their course requests.
Congratulations to our Winter athletes! We are proud to announce our students will represent Manassas Park at States for the following events:
- Swimming - Colby Alexander
- Girls Wrestling - Jazlyn Mendoza
- Wrestling - Chris Angelo, Thomas Nguyen
Congratulations to our student-athletes for all their hard work!
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Charles Forrest
Principal

February is CTE Month!
The month of February celebrates Career and Technical Education! CTE prepares students for the workforce across a wide range of industries and occupations. Through CTE students can learn skills in the classroom and on the job to support their careers. They can also earn industry certifications and licenses that will prepare them for life after high school.

Academic and Career Plan
Virginia requires all students to complete an Academic and Career Plan (ACP) each year. The ACP is to be reviewed and signed by a parent/guardian annually. At your earliest convenience, please review your student's plan that was emailed on January 24. Please note that the ACP can be reviewed and updated by the student at any time as they matriculate through their high school career. For additional information, please visit: https://www.doe.virginia.gov/parents-students/for-students/graduation/graduation-requirement-resources/academic-career-plan.
