Iron Men is a program for Humble ISD secondary schools that is similar to, but non-affiliated with, the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) in Humble ISD elementary schools. Its purpose is to partner with the father figures in our community to provide a positive presence that increases positive decision-making by our students.

Why?

The safety of our schools in America is under greater need over the past 10 - 15 years with an increase in violence and the influence of social media leading students to make choices that are harmful to themselves & others. The investment into schools and our children’s education is a community partnership. So, Iron Men is a family and community engagement educational initiative with two primary goals:

  • To provide positive role models for students through their visible presence on our campus.
  • To provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

Training

In order to be an ARMS Iron Man you must complete the following steps:

*Watch training videos and complete the training Google Form.

*Complete a background check with Humble ISD (Volunteer Application).

Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk

This event is a free event sponsored by the Humble Counseling Department. No registration is required.

A Message From Our Counselors A Message From Our Counselors

The Counseling Team has begun schedule changes. If you placed a request, your student will receive a new schedule. We will communicate if there are any conflicts with making such changes. Please note that we will do our best to fulfill all requests and that a single change may result in multiple changes to your student's schedule.

Personalized Counseling will begin in the month of September! At Humble ISD, we believe in a personalized approach to counseling. Each student will receive two individual meetings each year with their counselor. In these meetings, students will explore their goals and aspirations, and discuss the options for their personal path in Humble ISD. Additionally, we will work with students and teachers in the classroom to provide additional avenues for student success. This partnership gives Humble ISD students a unique approach to meeting their personal goals, career pathways, and setting them up for success. We are looking forward to meeting with your students!

Please join us for the Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk to be held on Thursday, September 12th from 6-8 pm at Turner Stadium. Please come out and spread awareness!

Thanks!!

Address Affidavit:

If both parent and student live with a relative or friend in Humble ISD, whose

residence is not an apartment, the parent and the homeowner with whom they

reside with must submit a notarized statement verifying the residence. A

new/updated Address Affidavit is required EVERY SCHOOL YEAR. Please

keep in mind the following requirements when using an Address Affidavit for

residency:

1. The parent, homeowner/resident, and student must meet together in

person with a campus administrator in order to review documentation. If

all parties cannot meet, a meeting will NOT be held and will need to be

rescheduled.

2. At the meeting, the homeowner and parent must provide the following:

o A current driver’s license with an address matching the residence

address of the address affidavit. If the homeowner and parent

does not have a valid Driver’s License that matches the address

on the proof of residence documentation, the process will not

move forward.

o Proof of residency in the form of a current lease agreement or

current electricity, water, or gas bill, dated within 30 days of the

meeting.

o Humble ISD will conduct home visits to verify that the student and

parent resides at the address listed on the address affidavit. If

Humble ISD is unable to verify residency, both the homeowner

and parent may be subject to criminal charges. The student will

be withdrawn immediately.

3. If a student has discipline or attendance issues, the Address Affidavit

will be revoked and your student will be withdrawn from our campus.

GRADES/HAC

Please ensure to check HAC to review your child’s grades and any missing assignments. Set alerts in HAC to help you monitor when the grade falls below your expectations. Encourage your child to attend tutorials. Each 9 weeks grade is used to calculate promotion to the next grade or retention (the requirement for summer school).

Traffic Flow

Please review this GIF for an overview of how traffic will flow during arrival and dismissal. Students will be allowed to enter the building at 7:50 a.m. (Late Arrival Days: 9:30 a.m.). Dismissal will begin at 4:00 p.m. each day.

zoom_out_map

CAR RIDER LOOP / WALKERS

For the safety of our students, please do not move our parking cones in any area that is placed to direct traffic. Our traffic signage is expected to be completed soon. Just a few reminders for safety…

1 - The front car rider loop is a “ONE WAY” at all times. Please do not exit the front parking lot, turning right. It is a “left turn” only to follow the car rider loop. Our car rider loop is a double-stacking lane in one direction at all times. “ONE WAY” signs will be posted soon!

2 - The stop sign in the curve of the car rider line was placed there on accident. You may disregard this sign and continue to proceed around the car rider loop to help continue to flow of drop-offs/pick-ups. Please be patient and kind as you merge into one lane in the car rider loop.

3 - Do not drive through cones in the parking lot. We have had to replace several cones that have been destroyed by cars running over them.

4 - In the car rider loop, please encourage your child to be ready to “unload” as soon as your car stops in front of the school (Under the awning area). This helps us move the line faster, get you through the car rider loops faster, and get kids in the building on time. We appreciate you for always “pulling all the way down” before you stop! The thumbs up, smiles, and waves are all in appreciation!!!

If your child is a walker, remind them to proceed home as soon as they are dismissed. We have too many students that are hanging out in front of the school/on campus that should be leaving the campus when they are dismissed. Students found not leaving the campus immediately will receive consequences.
