๐ Windsong Weekly: August 15, 2026
Dear Windsong Ranch Families,
I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our students, staff, and families for making our first week of school absolutely fantastic! The energy in the building has been incredible and it has been wonderful seeing our classrooms filled with smiling faces and an eagerness to learn.
๐ Safety Drills
As we settle into our daily routines, keeping our students safe remains our top priority. We will be beginning our routine safety drills soon. We recognize that practicing these drills can sometimes feel a bit scary or overwhelming for students. Please rest assured that we will always inform students that it is a drill to help ease their anxiety while ensuring they know exactly what to do in an emergency. Our SRO, Officer Mike, shared this Safety Drill Video with our staff who will then be sharing it with our students. The video explains the Safety Response Protocol used in our Prosper schools.
๐ Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Thank you for your patience as traffic patterns adjust during these first few weeks. To keep traffic moving smoothly andโmost importantlyโkeep our children safe, please adhere to the following rules:
No Left Turns: Left turns into the MโZ back car line during dismissal are prohibited. Left turns out of the A-L car line during dismissal are also prohibited.
No Street Parking: To ensure clear lines of sight and safe walking paths for students, please refrain from parking on Redstem or Copper Canyon directly around the school.
Respect Our Neighbors: Please be mindful of our surrounding community and ensure you do not block any neighbors' driveways.
Front Lot Status: The front lot is closed during arrival.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making this school year safe and successful. Letโs keep this great momentum going!
Windsong STRONG!

We are thrilled to launch the new school year with our district "Be Kind" shirts and sweatshirts. This isn't just apparel, it's a movement. We encourage staff and students to wear yellow on Wednesdays to show your support of mental health and the Prosper ISD Hope Squad.
UIL Academics Grades 2-5
We are VERY excited about our students having the opportunity to participate in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) A+ Academics Competition in grades 2 - 5.

You will be able to indicate areas of interest for your student. Please keep in mind that there may be conflicts with practice and/or competition times, and it may not be possible to participate in multiple events. If you would like your child to participate in UIL Academics, please sign up BEFORE September 18, 2026. The first UIL contests will begin in October.
