FROM THE PRINCIPALS
GENERAL SCHOOL NEWS
Dear CMIT South Families,
We’ve officially wrapped up the first two weeks of the 2025–2026 school year, and what a strong start it has been! Our students have brought great energy, curiosity, and focus into the building, and we are excited about the momentum we are building together.
This year, our themes—“Mission STEM Possible: Every Student, Every Day, No Exception” and “Level Up: Every Student, Every Lesson, Every Day”—are already coming to life in classrooms and across our school community. Scholars are engaging deeply in their learning, teachers are setting high expectations, and families are showing up in ways that remind us how powerful partnership truly is.
Looking ahead:
NWEA BOY Assessments will begin next week for Middle School scholars. High School scholars will complete theirs the week of September 15th. These assessments help us measure growth and set academic goals for the year.
Back-to-School Night is right around the corner—Monday, September 15th (HS) and Tuesday, September 16th (MS). This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with CMIT South faculty and staff, learn more about our vision for the year, and connect as a community.
Please note that Back-to-School Nights are also Picture Days. All scholars are expected to wear their White CMIT South Oxford shirts, which are also required for field trips and special events.
As we move forward, consistency will be key—whether it’s showing up on time, being prepared with Chromebooks, or fully engaging in lessons each day. Together, these habits will pave the way for academic growth and personal success for every scholar.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education and for being an integral part of the CMIT South family. Let’s keep the momentum going strong!
With Tiger Pride,
Dr. Darrian Borden-McCarter, HS Principal
Mrs. Tiffawny Green, MS Principal

MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
ATTENDANCE MATTERS- EVERYDAY & ON TIME
Being present and on time sets students up for success! Daily attendance helps students stay on track academically, build strong routines, and feel connected to their school community.
To encourage good habits, we’re launching a grade-level cohort competition! The cohort on each grade level with the lowest percentage of absences and tardies for the month of September will win a special reward.
Let’s work together to help students show up every day, on time, and ready to learn. Every minute counts!
