Connections Student Pool Punch Cards
Connections families that would like to utilize our local KPBSD pools have an option to get a Pool Punch Card through Connections to use at your preferred pool. Please see the steps to do so below:
1. Contact your local Connections office and request a Pool Punch Card for your student(s). A Pool Punch card form will be sent to you via email or filled out in the office. Forms are also available on our website on the Forms tab. Form must be signed (in person or electronically) for pass to be issued. Punch cards are Pool specific, so you will also need to let us know what pool you'd like a card for.
2. Pool Punch Cards are $55 which is good for 12 swims. The fee will be taken directly out of your students allotment. Each student will need their own card.
3. Your students Punch Card will then be sent directly to the designated pool through district mail. It may take up to a week to get there, so please keep that in mind when planning your swim time.
4. When you visit the pool, just let them know you have a Connections Punch Card.
5. When you need a new Punch Card, just start back at Step 1.
Few special notes:
*Parents or non-Connections siblings will have to be paid out of pocket.
*Pool Punch Cards are specific for the student, they are non-transferrable.
*Currently, the following pools are NOT available for open swim or Connections Pool Punch Cards: Skyview, KCHS, and Ninilchik.

Sora- The Student Reading App
Digital eBooks and Audiobooks for 3-12th grade students!
Did you know that your student has access to thousands of age-appropriate* eBooks and audiobooks via the Sora app? The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District provides a thoughtfully curated digital collection to KPBSD students in grade 3-12. This is similar to the Libby app that you may be using to access the Alaska State Digital Library, however, the Sora collection is only available to district students (so there’s usually a shorter wait time!). Read & Listen from any device using Sora: Chromebooks, tablets, laptops, desktops, and phones. Check it out!
To get started, follow the simple steps below. And be sure to check out this video if you would like more detailed information on how to use all the app features:
- On your computer: Access Sora from the district website (www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us) by going to the Students/Parents tab and clicking the Sora icon (the chubby airplane against a blue sky);
On your device: Download the FREE Sora app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or soraapp.com
- Search for KPBSD Main Collection using ZIP CODE ~ 99669
- Login : Username: Student ID Number (check with your advisor if you do not know your student number); Password: your birthday in the ddmmyy format
- Staff login = e# (replace the “e” with “9”); password = school password
*age-appropriate:
- 3rd-6th graders have access to elementary and juvenile books appropriate to their age level;
- 7-12 have access to the entire site – elementary through YA;
- adding the Alaska Digital Library Collection is optional; when added via the Sora app, the collection is filtered to omit adult titles for all students.
