And the Special This Week is...
Wrapping Up A Month of Literacy
Ice Cream Social on Friday at Community Lunch!
We’re thrilled to announce that the students of Francestown Elementary School won the town’s annual scarecrow contest!
To celebrate this achievement, the Francestown Recreation Department is hosting an ice cream social. The celebration will take place during our next community lunch on November 22nd, from 12:00-12:30 PM. We invite families to join us in recognizing the students' hard work and enjoying a sweet treat together.
Congratulations, Francestown Elementary School students! Thank you to Laura Mafera for helping to provide supplies.

How Many Minutes Will We Read?
Can we do it again?
Last year, we read a total of 4,422 minutes during our month-long celebration of literacy. This year, we’re taking our reading adventure to “Camp Read-a-Lot”! Students are recording their reading minutes both at school and at home. You can track your minutes online on our read-a-thon website or using the paper sent home. I wonder how many more minutes we can read this year!
Minutes Read: 4,383
Bring the Kona Ice Truck and Programming to FES!
Francestown Elementary School has decided to hold a Read-A-Thon this year!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday, October 7, 2024.
About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323831343236/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
Part of our Month of Literacy is to keep track of the number of minutes and books read. Please consider using the reading log sent home or logging minutes online. We announce the total number of minutes read everyday! You do not have to donate to participate!
We hope EVERYONE participates.
Thanks so much,
Francestown Elementary School
Welcome to Kindergarten with Ms. Curley!
Finding All the Ways!
This week in kindergarten we started learning about number sentences in math. Students have been practicing breaking apart numbers to find all the hidden partners in the number. For example we discovered 6 could be broken into 5 and 1, 4 and 2, and 3 and 3! That's 3 different ways!
First and Second Grade with Ms. Sanchez
The 50th Day of School
1st and 2nd grade had an amazing week of celebrations and kindness! On Tuesday, they celebrated the 50th day of school by dressing up like people did in the 1950s and writing about what they would do when they are 50. If you get the chance, come check out their writings in the hallway for a good laugh! On Wednesday, they celebrated World Kindness Day by spreading kindness throughout the building while also writing and drawing different ways they could be kind!
Ms. Parisi's Third and Fourth Graders!
Finding Our Way in Amusement Parks!
Ms. Parisi's class has been working this week with measuring, multiplying 3 digit numbers, and creating presentations about New Hampshire's weather! They have also been working hard on their amusement park stories during writing time!
Health and Wellness with Mr. LeGraw
This week in PE, students have been working hard to improve their basketball skills! They’ve practiced dribbling, passing, and shooting, while focusing on teamwork and sportsmanship. It’s been exciting to see everyone grow more confident on the court!
