Friday Updates

Dear SHS Families,

And just like that, we are off on another journey with the start of a new school year. Seeing all the families and students this week was very rejuvenating as the building returned to life and hallways and classrooms were filled again. Every school year is unique, and this year will surely present its own unforgettable experiences, challenges, and learning moments. This year, our school theme is “Open eyes, open minds, open hearts”. This reflects Ephesians 1: 18 which asks the Lord to open the eyes of our hearts so that we can do His will, and inherit His glory. We make the same request for the students, families, and staff of this school this year.

Next week, do not miss Back to School Night and the Used Uniform Sale on Thursday, August 22nd. We will begin the Used Uniform Sale at 5:30 pm in the Parish Hall. See my August 9th email for details regarding buying and selling clothes. Any family wishing to donate their proceeds to the school can donate them to the SHS PTO. Back to School Night will begin at 6:30 pm with introductions and information to all parents led by me in the Parrish Hall, followed by two 20-minute informational sessions led by your student(s)’ teacher in their classrooms. We ask that parents make an effort to attend this event as teachers will cover important information that will be needed for you to stay connected to your student(s)' learning throughout the year.
