St. Francis de Sales

“They took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna!

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” John 12:13

The most holy week of the liturgical year is now upon us. As we approach Holy Week and Easter Sunday, we now prepare to celebrate the central mystery of our faith. Only in walking through the shadows of Holy Week, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday can we truly understand the light and hope of Easter Sunday morning.

The faith journey we take through the observances of Holy Week will serve to remind us of the significance of new beginnings. While our Lenten experiences emphasized sacrifices and self-examination, it has also been a time for spiritual growth, a time to anticipate and prepare for the great feast of Easter. By combining the traditions from the past, along with practical ideas for our students, we hope to have achieved a spiritually rewarding Lent. We wish everyone a blessed Holy Week!
