✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨
Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!
This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.
Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!
When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Reflect, Refocus, Follow Through...
Good morning!
I hope your weekend is continuing to go well! We had a little bit of a heat wave roll through but overall, it was a good weekend to be outside, share in some laughs, and soak up the sun. I hope you were able to do the same. As the opening of the newsletter stated, we are moving into a full month of school and with that comes the opportunity to reflect, refocus, and making sure that what we set out to do is being done.
Action is only half the equation. We all put in our time and we all have been working hard. We put in countless hours and we continue to pour our heart and soul into the work that we do. Whether that is a staff member, student, or patron in our communities, we have the responsibility of this. It is easy to get caught up in the pace of the school year, but doing without thinking is a missed opportunity. This quote hammers home the importances that the most successful people and organizations don't just act; they THINK about their actions.
Reflection is not passive. The word "quiet" doesn't mean we're doing nothing. It means we're being deliberate and we are focusing on the small details. We need to take a step back from the daily grind to look at our efforts from a new perspective. We need to ask the critical questions: What worked? What didn't? Why? What did we learn? This is an active and essential part of our growth.
The Drucker quote promises that this "quiet reflection" will lead to "even more effective action." This isn't just about adjusting a few things; it's about making significant, lasting improvements. When we learn from our experiences, we can make smarter decisions, create better strategies, achieve greater results, and follow through with our actions which continues to grow our relationships and trust with one another.
This is a message for everyone—staff, students, and community members. We're all in this TOGETHER. By making reflection a habit, we are building a culture where everyone is a lifelong learner. It’s how we ensure our school community doesn't just keep up, but leads the way.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action."
Peter F. Drucker
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
