zoom_out_map

Mr. Albright bids farewell to his role as Superintendent of Mid-Buchanan R-V. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Albright has left an indelible mark, leading numerous initiatives and improvements that have improved Mid-Buchanan.

Under his leadership, the district achieved significant financial successes, enabling transformative upgrades across our district. From the installation of new HVAC systems to the construction of new additions and the renovation of our beautiful ballfields and playgrounds, Mr. Albright has ensured that our facilities are not only modern but also conducive to learning and play.

His dedication to student well-being is evident in every detail, from the meticulously upgraded floors and technology enhancements to the enhanced security measures prioritizing safety. Mr. Albright has also worked with community partnerships, collaborating with local EMS and fire departments to bolster safety protocols and preparedness.

Known for keeping every card and gift from the children he served, he has been a pillar of support and encouragement in their lives. His playful spirit shines through as the lead drummer of the Steel Drum Band Soca Jukebox, bringing joy to countless school and community events. One of his favorite activities is calling Santa Claus with the preschool classes to ensure students are on the nice list.

Outside of school, Mr. Albright cherishes moments with his grandson, Maddox, and his wife, Hope. His love for Dr. Pepper, Dove Dark Chocolate, and Street Corn Dip is well-known, as is his affinity for organizing tasks with his favorite Post-it Notes (in non-girly colors, of course!).

As we bid farewell to Mr. Albright, we celebrate his professional achievements and the lasting impact of his kindness, innovation, and unwavering dedication to our community and its children. Join us in wishing him a joyous retirement filled with well-deserved relaxation and continued moments of cherished connections with family and friends.

Mid-Buchanan R-V Superintendent Mr. Albright has announced his retirement, and Mrs. April Campbell will take over the role beginning in July 2025.

Mrs. Campbell’s journey with Mid-Buchanan began in first grade as a student, and she later graduated from the district. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University, a Master’s in Administration in 2010, and a Specialist in Superintendency in 2016. She returned to Mid-Buchanan in 2007 as a math teacher. She has since served in multiple leadership roles, including elementary assistant principal, elementary principal, and, most recently, assistant superintendent of academic services. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the district and a strong commitment to student success.

“The role of superintendent is both an honor and a great responsibility,” Mrs. Campbell said. “Mid-Buchanan has always been home to me, and I am committed to leading with integrity, passion, and a focus on student achievement. Mid-Buchanan has and will always hold a special place in my heart. Having been a product of this district myself, I am aware of the unique family bond that exists among our educators, staff, students, and their families. This sense of community and shared purpose sets Mid-Buchanan apart from surrounding districts. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to become the superintendent of Mid-Buchanan, and I am grateful to have this opportunity.”

The Dragon community has always been important to Mrs. Campbell, and she is honored to lead a district that feels like family. She looks forward to building on the district’s strong foundation and working alongside students, staff, and the community to continue fostering excellence in education.

High-Stakes Testing is Coming Soon – Let’s Do Our Best! High-Stakes Testing is Coming Soon – Let’s Do Our Best!

Spring is here, which means high-stakes testing is just around the corner! Beginning at the end of April, students in grades 3 through 10 will take the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) or End-of-Course (EOC) exams. These assessments are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate what they’ve learned and help our schools continue to grow and improve.

Parents and community members, your support makes a big difference! Encouraging students to get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and confidently approach the tests can help them perform at their best. Attendance is also key—being present each day ensures students don’t miss important testing sessions and can do their best work.

Most importantly, we want our students to know that these tests do not define them—but giving their best effort is something to be proud of! Let’s cheer on our students as they take on this challenge. We believe in them and can’t wait to see all they accomplish!

Second Annual Career Fair

On March 19 Mid-Buchanan welcomed approximately 40 professionals to our Second Annual Career Fair. Students in grades 5-12 were able to

visit with all vendors about future careers and exciting opportunities in our area. Many of the vendors had door prizes and hands-on activities, and the Student Council students assisted with making sure the day went by flawlessly. High School students participated in the Best Professional Dress Contest, and a few were prepared to hand out their resumes at the event to potential employers. Thank you to everyone who made this another successful event. If you are interested in participating next year, please reach out to Mrs. Raines or Mrs. Zabel.

"Bloom"

Each week, girls in 5th -8th grade collaborate with peer mentors in 9th-12th grade, along side Miss Drury, Mrs. Zabel and Mrs. Cross, to discuss topics that focus on girl empowerment and leadership skills.

“Bloom is an encouraging space for girls to

grow in confidence as well as grow in

community with older girls who encourage them to be themselves.” -Miss Drury-

Recently the girls have been learning about self-confidence and accepting who they are with pride. We will be working on overcoming fears and trying new things with confidence over the next few weeks. Bloom will run for a total of 10 sessions and will end on April 15th.
