PDCMS Panther Tales

Message from Principal Austad
Good afternoon, Great People,
As we reflect on our recent parent-teacher conferences, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who joined us. Thank you for making the time, for your thoughtful questions, and for the incredible support you offer your children every single day.
We often talk about the importance of building bridges, and the connection between home and school is one of the most vital bridges we can build for a child's success. As John A. Powell reminds us, “As we build bridges and even become bridges, we will be doing a service to the world.” Your partnership is what makes our PDCMS school community so incredibly strong and vibrant, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with you.
Please remember that building these bridges isn't a once-a-year event. Our doors (and inboxes) are always open. You are always welcome to reach out to our staff at any time throughout the year to set up a conference or simply to check in.
Thank you again for your unwavering support of your students and our incredible school. Be Present, Be Purposeful, Be a Panther...Today is a great day to be a Panther. Don’t forget to be Awesome!
Have a great week,
Principal Austad

Panther Voices & Applause: Share, Celebrate, Connect!
We’re excited to introduce two new ways to connect in Panther Tales! Through a Panther’s Eyes invites students to share their perspectives through our Weekly Student Question. A different question will be posted each week using the same link, so check back and let your voice be heard! Panther Applause is open to everyone—staff, parents, students, and community members—to recognize someone who has made a difference through kindness, support, or school spirit. Help us celebrate the people and perspectives that make PDCMS special!

Optimistic October
October is Optimistic October! This month’s Action for Happiness calendar encourages our Panther families to build hope and positivity through small daily actions, such as noticing what’s going well, celebrating progress, and taking steps toward meaningful goals. Optimism doesn’t mean ignoring challenges, it means recognizing that things can improve and finding a helpful way forward. We invite you to explore the calendar together and try a daily activity as a family. Let’s encourage one another and look for the good this October!
