Dear Madonna Families,

We are grateful for so many blessings in our lives, especially the gift of our faith and the opportunity to see our students truly light up. The image above captures our students joyfully participating in our school concert on Wednesday evening. This was indeed a powerful reminder of faith in action. We extend a big thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Fortier, for her wonderful leadership this week in our school Mass and Wednesday’s concert.

As we look ahead to this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus points us to signs of God’s love and healing in our world, encouraging us to live with hope and joy as we await His coming at Christmas.

May this season of hope, peace, joy, and love fill your hearts as we prepare to welcome Jesus at Christmas!

As we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christmas, we are pleased to share a special message from Archdiocesan Administrator Fr. Paul Kavanagh to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Edmonton. In this brief video, Fr. Paul reflects the spirit of the season with words of gratitude, hope, and a heartfelt commitment to pastoral service as he prepares to lead our local Church.

We are pleased to share a special message from Archbishop-Designate Stephen Hero to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Edmonton. In this short video, His Grace offers words of gratitude, hope, and a heartfelt pledge of pastoral service as he prepares to lead our local Church. Archbishop-Designate Hero will be formally installed as the eighth Archbishop of Edmonton on January 23, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Basilica.

Each month our COGITO students have as part of their learning the assignment to offer a recitation that they practise at home and present to the class. Typically these are tied to the season of the school year and students never fail to deliver such quality oral presentations to their audience. This week our grade 4 class presented to our grade 1B class. A great opportunity to model their leadership and confidence.

At Madonna we strive to work with our buddy classroom at least once a month to help foster leadership and relationships. Our grade 3V and 1SW classes were able to be together for some reading practice. Then on Friday our grade 2 classes and kindergarten groups came together to make some Christmas Trees craft.

Thank you to all of our beautiful readers, choir members and families who came to support our school at our Advent mass this week. Congratulations to Kenili for her winning entry from the GrACE contest and to Lexi for allowing us to witness her declaration of faith. SO many reasons to be inspired by our youth. Thank you Fr Jim and Mrs Lavigne for the help from the parish. Mr. and Mrs. Spindler for accompanying the choir members and Mrs Fortier for her leadership.
