The Wolf Weekly
October 26, 2025
CTMS Family Newsletter
Wonderful Wolf Families,
What a week for the pack! We kicked off the week on Monday morning with the October PTA general meeting and parent classrooms visits and ended the week with the CTMS choir singing their way into 29 spots on the All Region Choir on Saturday! In between these two events, the pack competed on the field, court, and course. Thank you to all of our family members who work behind the scenes, volunteer at endless events, drive our wolves to and fro before the sun rises and long after the sun sets to make all of these events possible!
This week is Red Ribbon Week. The PALS organized dress up days to encourage the pack to be healthy and drug free. All dress up days must follow GCISD's dress code, no inflatables, face coverings, or weapons (real or look alike). See below for a list of dress up days. On Friday, we will have a Red Ribbon Week Assembly, thanks to the CTMS PTA, featuring BMX bike riders.
Join us THIS Thursday for our annual Trunk or Treat from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This come and go event is free to all with concessions available. Get your costumes ready for fun with the pack!
Looking forward to a wonderful week with the pack!

Patrick H. Brady, U.S. Army - Vietnam War
On January 6, 1968, near Chu Lai, then-Major Patrick Brady piloted multiple unarmed medical evacuation helicopters through dense fog, smoke, and intense enemy fire to rescue wounded soldiers from otherwise inaccessible battlefields. Despite losing three aircraft to damage that day, he repeatedly returned to danger zones—clearing fog with rotor wash, landing in minefields, and extracting a total of 51 wounded. His fearless dedication and disregard for personal safety saved countless lives and exemplified the highest ideals of military service.
Donald E. Ballard, U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman – Vietnam War
On May 16, 1968, in Quang Tri Province, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Donald Ballard braved relentless enemy fire to treat and evacuate the wounded. When a grenade landed beside his patients, he threw himself onto it—fully prepared to sacrifice his life. When it failed to detonate, he calmly stood up and resumed treating Marines. That is the essence of selfless devotion.
Robert M. Patterson, U.S. Army – Vietnam War
On May 6, 1968, near La Chu, Sergeant Robert Patterson led an assault team through heavy fire, single-handedly attacking a fortified enemy bunker complex. He destroyed five bunkers, killed multiple enemy soldiers, and inspired his platoon to overrun the position. His boldness and courage turned the tide of battle.

Join The CT Counseling Team in exploring The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
Why this book?
In The Anxious Generation, Jonathan Haidt explains why today’s kids are struggling with higher levels of stress, anxiety, and loneliness. He shows how the rise of smartphones and the decline of free play have reshaped childhood — and offers ideas for how parents and communities can help kids grow up healthier, happier, and more resilient.

Preferred Participation Consent for Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention- Opt In Program
As required by federal and state law, we will soon begin presenting a personal safety curriculum to middle school students. GCISD uses the Play It Safe! ® program to teach this curriculum. Play It Safe! ® is a child abuse awareness and prevention program that incorporates age-appropriate scripts and movies to teach children how to reduce the risk of sexual and physical abuse, and sexual assault. It teaches them to recognize potentially abusive behavior, provides the tools to respond to threatening situations, and encourages them to report abuse to a trusted adult. It is presented by The Women’s Center of Tarrant County, Inc. which uses trained volunteers to present the program using videos and scripted discussions at an age-appropriate level.
Play It Safe! ® meets the State and Federal guidelines for curriculum addressing personal safety issues, child sexual abuse and pedophiles. The GCISD School Health Advisory Committee has reviewed and recommended these programs for all GCISD schools.
Our schedule for showing the Play It Safe Curriculum this year is as follows:
6th grade “Sexual Harassment”- November 12th, 2025
6th grade “Survivors of Abuse- March 11th, 2026
7th grade “Healthy Relationships”- October 8th, 2025
7th grade “Can’t Take It Back” - November 18th, 2025
7th grade “Abuse of Power” - February 25th, 2026
The purpose of this personal safety presentation is to provide the students with information and practical skills to reduce their risk of being in dangerous and/or abusive situations. They will learn how to recognize, react to, and report those situations. This one-hour program is presented in an age-appropriate, non-threatening manner through the use of stories, group discussions, and an age-appropriate movie.
We hosted a parent preview on September 18 via Zoom. Please find the preview for Play It Safe here: https://www.gcisd.net/page/parent-previews-24. Videos will remain available until 9/30/2025.
The Opt In form has been posted into your Skyward Family Access. If you would like for your student to participate, please complete the Opt In form two business days prior to the scheduled program date. If you choose for your child not to participate, your child will be provided an alternate location while this program is being presented. If the form is not completed, your child will not participate in the program.

Secondary Grading Policy
Click here to see the updated secondary grading policy from GCISD. All wolf pack teachers will be following this policy this school year to communicate the progress of each wolf.
Grades are a method of communicating the progress each wolf is making at CTMS. If you ever have questions or concerns over a grade, please reach out directly to the teacher.
Drop Off & Dismissal
Drop-off and pick-up occur in TWO locations: In the parking lot outside the academic halls at the B-hall door and outside the SAC. Thank you for waiting in carline and letting your wolf exit. It takes a few minutes to drop off and pick up over 800 wolves!
For the safety of all wolves, thank you in advance for driving slowly, keeping cell phones away, and staying alert and aware of others.
B-Hall Door
For drop-off and pick-up, the parking lot across from the football field is two lanes. Pull into the lane you will be exiting from, if you are turning right out of the parking lot, drop off and/or pick up your wolf in the inside lane (closest to the building) and if you are turning left out of the parking lot, drop off and/or pick up your wolf on the outside lane (closest to the football field). Also, please pull all the way up to let your wolf out of the vehicle. The doors to the school open at 7:45 a.m. and school dismisses at 3:35 p.m.
SAC Doors
This is a single lane drop-off and pick-up. The driveway is not for parking. If you need to assist your wolf, please park in a non-reserved space.
Personal Technology at School
House Bill 1481 prohibits the use of personal communication devices during the school day. Middle school students may use telecommunications devices before and after school. They may not use telecommunications devices during school hours except for their school issued devices.
What does this mean for the wolves?
- Personal devices will be in bags, not on wolves, throughout the entire school day.
- Families needing to relay messages can leave messages with the front office staff and office aides will deliver messages to classrooms.
- Wolves needing to contact families can use the phone in the front office during passing periods and lunch or, when appropriate, in their classrooms.
Technology Needs
- Submit a HelpDesk Ticket for the most efficient service we will be using the locker system outside of the administration building. More directions will be available in the helpdesk ticket
- Email technology@gcisd.net for assistance
Charger: In need of a new charger for a school issued Chromebook, click here for information on how to order a new one.
