Dear Lindblom families and community,

In celebration of Women’s History Month 2026, we honor the theme designated by the National Women’s History Alliance: “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.” We recognize the women transforming environmental, economic, and social systems to build lasting impact. From green technology to community resilience and economic justice, women leaders are lighting the path toward a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

In under 2 months, our students will take the Enhanced ACT/Pre-ACT. The content of the test is not changing. The key differences are:

  • Reduced number of questions

  • More time per question

  • Math section now has 4 answer choices instead of 5

  • Shorter reading passages

  • Science and writing are now optional (all students in the State of Illinois will still take the science and writing sections)

You can review the differences between the Legacy ACT and the new Enhanced ACT HERE. On 02/19/26, AP Meadows invited all juniors access to all of the Enhanced ACT practice questions along with a practice test in each subject area through the TestNav platform (information provided HERE). The full set of resources provided by the ACT Illinois for both students and staff can be found at the bottom of this page HERE.

Please note that engagement in rigorous instruction and standards-aligned curriculum are the best means of preparing for any exam. Additionally, we want to ensure our students have exposure to the various types of test questions through intentional, targeted practice opportunities.

Together we rise in cultural appreciation,

Principal Banks

Report Card Pick Up Day

We will share appointment links with parents on Friday, March 6th, as a special email, and in the newsletter on March 8th. We advise parents to review JumpRope before booking the appointment so they can identify the specific Performance Indicator or assignment they would like to discuss.

Student Voice in Action: Expanding Breakfast Access

Your voice matters, and we want you to know that we are listening.

Students requested more time and access for breakfast. We must balance this by ensuring morning safety through proper supervision and structured entry. Our cafeteria and nutrition teams also share the goal of making sure every student has the opportunity to start the day nourished and ready to learn.

Thanks to your input, the Nutrition Department will provide a breakfast cart for Keeler. The 7:45 a.m. student release time remains, but the cart will improve access while maintaining a safe environment. Please remember to keep Keeler clean with this new initiative. This is a powerful example of how student voice leads to meaningful change. Thank you for speaking up, offering solutions, and helping us strengthen our school community.

Congratulations to Lindblom Chess team. They competed at McCormick Place for the Midwest Championship. It was an enormous long convention of chess, so to speak. Alex Diaz, Jose Cisneros, Ezekiel Corral, Kamille and Maxwell Shepard, Omar Perez Rojo and Horace Page represented.

Overall, we persevered through some ups and downs to a 6th place finish after 5 rounds. Special shoutout to Jose Cisneros who won all 5 of his games, for a top individual finish and a trophy!

This year Lindblom had 20 students participate in the CASE program through Cubs Charities, making it our biggest cohort yet. Over the past 7 weeks they stayed after school to learn about the various careers that exist in the sports world outside of just being an athlete. This past Tuesday, these students traveled down to the Chicago Cubs offices and presented some of their learnings from the program infront of Cubs executives as well as the other students in the program from around the city. The two topics our students presented on were Player Scouting & Development and Corporate Partnerships.

Congratulations to our students on doing a great job with the CASE program: Alex Diaz, Amiya Horton, Amiya Knight, Camille Cook, Chloe Butler, Da-Xia Marquez, Ginger Henderson, Joshua Gumm, Kennedee Hibbler, Lauryn Jordan, Makenzie Bryan, Marianna Haynes, Mia Booth, Neter Clark, Omari Cossom, Rashyra Alexander, Salim Cox, Vanessa Fonseca, Virginia Romero, and Yusuf Maquire.

Student Spotlight

Congratulations to our Black Student Union and other students that contributed to a phenomenal Black History Month Assembly. Beginning with a theme of "Showtime at the Apollo" and including the wonderful talents of skating, singing, dancing, moments in history facts, and representing your business product, and ending with a memorial to the black historians we've lost in the past year. It was very well put together.

March Madness

This week starts Lindblom's March Madness. This is your time to tell a friend to come to school and attend all of their classes.

Why would you do this? Because that's what good friends do.....

If that's not good enough of a reason, then do it because your entire grade-level could win some new SWAG. They could win a VIP party. They could improve their attendance enough to participate in the upcoming events that are being planned. There are tons of reasons!!!!
