💕💕 HARDY'S HEARTFELT MESSAGE💞💞
Hey you! Did you know that you’re very special? There is no other person in this world like you. You deserve to be loved not only by those around you but by the most important person in your life — YOU! Practicing self-love can be challenging for many of us, especially in times when we face serious challenges. It’s not about being self-absorbed or narcissistic, it’s about getting in touch with ourselves, our well-being and our happiness. We practice self-love so we can push through our limiting beliefs and live a life that truly shines. Do yourself a favor, take a deep breath, give yourself a little hug and start practicing the following:
- Stop comparing yourself to others.
- Don't worry about others' opinions.
- Allow yourself to make mistakes.
- Remember your value doesn't lie in how your body looks.
- Don't be afraid to let go of toxic people.
- Process your fears.
- Trust yourself to make good decisions for yourself.
You’ve got this and 2025 is your year to shine!
Sending love and light,
Ms. Hardy

COUNCIL CARES: CLINIC & HYGIENE DRIVE (FEBRUARY 16-27)
NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK (FEB. 2-6)
National School Counseling Week recognizes the vital roles school counselors play in the lives of students across the country. Each year during the first full school week in February, schools, and teachers take time to show appreciation to the counselors who've made an impact on the lives of their students.
School counselors provide a wealth of support throughout a student's academic career. As a counselor, they help students when they face adversity such as bullying, trouble at home, academic performance, and relationship issues. Counselors also listen to students' interests and assess their skills and personality to help them decide their future academic and career goals.
FRIENDSHIP WEEK ASSEMBLY:CORNERSTONES OF CHARACTER- FRIDAY FEBRUARY 13
“Hey Dude, Nice Shoes” is an anti-bullying/pro-kindness workshop presented to tens of thousands of students across the country each year! This workshop helps navigate through the delicate topics that one encounters growing up. February Guidance Lessons
FEBRUARY GUIDANCE LESSONS OBJECTIVES
Ms. Hardy will be facilitating classroom guidance lessons in all grades focusing on EMPATHY and helping students understand and value others’ feelings, perspectives, and experiences. We will be learning and reviewing how empathy builds stronger relationships, reduces conflict, and creates a more inclusive, respectful learning environment.
5th-grade students have finished preparing for "Mission Transition" and will soon take a big leap into Middle School in just a few months. 3rd-5th graders will learn about college and vocational school choices and discuss various options for post-secondary education and how middle school directly begins helping them navigate that process. K-2 will enjoy career options and use their vocal talents to learn a fun inspiring song with Ms. Hardy.
THEME: ”Kindness is Contagious, Spread the LOVE”
Character Strong: Encouraging Empathy
Children grow and develop rapidly in their first five years across the four main areas of development. These areas are motor (physical), communication and language, cognitive, and social and emotional.
Social and emotional development means how children start to understand who they are, what they are feeling and what to expect when interacting with others. It is the development of being able to:
- Form and sustain positive relationships.
- Experience, manage and express emotions.
- Explore and engage with the environment.
FEBRUARY LIFE READINESS STANDARDS
ASCA MINDSETS
Sense of acceptance, respect, support and inclusion for self and others in a school environment. (M 1) (K-5)

Strategies to Help Children with Anxiety
Difficulty sustaining attention
They may struggle to stay focused on tasks like listening to instructions, completing homework, or finishing games, even ones they enjoy.High activity level or constant movement
Fidgeting, leaving their seat, climbing, or always needing to move their body (even during quiet activities) is common.Impulsivity
Blurting out answers, interrupting others, grabbing items, or acting before thinking through consequences.Challenges with organization and follow-through
Losing things, forgetting directions, starting tasks but not finishing them, or needing frequent reminders for routines.Emotional regulation struggles
Big feelings, quick frustration, meltdowns, or difficulty calming down and often seeming “overreactive” for their age.
Important note: These behaviors often show up inconsistently and can look different in different settings. Many kids with ADHD are also creative, energetic, empathetic, and curious, but those strengths just need the right supports to shine.
