Principal Message
Dear WCS Families,
We hope this message finds you well! We had a fantastic end to last week with our Spring Dance on Friday night. A total of 315 students attended, and they all looked absolutely amazing! From the dance moves to the snack table, our students truly impressed us. Thank you so much for your patience during pick-up—dismissing that many students in the rain was certainly a “perfect storm,” but your cooperation helped us ensure that student safety remained our top priority. We invite you to check out the slideshow of dance photos—there are lots of great memories captured, especially around the beautiful balloon garland created by Mrs. Abraham. A huge thank you to all of our dedicated staff who gave their Friday night to make this event so special.
NH SAS Testing Update
This week, students completed the Reading and Writing sections of the New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (NH SAS). We’re incredibly proud of their focus and effort! Next week, we will continue testing with:
-
Math for Grades 5 & 6
-
Science for Grade 6
Any students who were absent, arrived late or needed more time will also work to make up their assessments. Thank you to everyone who has helped students arrive on time and prepared. Your support makes a big difference!
Asia Culture Fair
What an incredible celebration of learning! Our 6th grade students and teachers wowed everyone with their Asia Culture Fair this week. From creative displays to delicious food, it was clear how much effort and pride went into this event. Thank you to all the families and friends who attended and supported our students. We also appreciate your continued patience with check-in and check-out procedures, which help us keep student safety at the forefront—especially during events with public access.

FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Center School Field Day is June 9th (with a rain date of June 10th).
We are in need of parent volunteers for the Center School Field Day Monday June 9th (rain date Tuesday June 10th) to have a successful day. We have had great responses in the past, and hope this year will be the same.
Volunteers (with another parent) will lead a 30 minute station with the assistance of a staff member (who will rotate to that activity with their class). Directions/rules will be provided. Some stations are outside, some are inside, and activities range from "Name that Tune" to "Scooter Board Hockey", so please bring sneakers and be ready for some fun!
If you are available to help from 7:45am-2:00pm please use the link below to register to volunteer. You must be cleared by the district to volunteer.
Thank you,
The Physical Education Department
Important Car Drop Off and Pick Up Safety Notice
The safety of our staff and students is our top priority. When dropping off or picking up your child(ren), please follow the directions of our staff members holding stop signs. Students should not enter or exit vehicles until instructed by a staff member.
Additionally, we have installed two new signs at the Grade 6 crosswalk that read, “Do not block crosswalk.” These signs help ensure students can cross safely without having to navigate between cars.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
