📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Week:
"Fall has always been my favourite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.'' - Lauren DeStefano
A note from Mr. Lee
A Fresh Start to the New Quarter
Monday marks the start of a brand-new quarter here at Carter, and with that comes a great opportunity for every student to hit reset. Maybe last quarter went well, and the goal is to keep that momentum going. Or maybe there was one class that didn’t go the way they hoped, now is the time to make a change and start fresh.
The best part? We still have 75% of the school year ahead of us. That is a lot of time to build consistency, form better habits, and show growth. It is too early in the year to just go through the motions. Every day is a chance to take a small step forward, turning missing work into a completed assignment, frustration into effort, and doubt into confidence.
Encourage your child to set one or two realistic goals for this quarter. Write them down, talk about them, and celebrate progress along the way. Success is not about being perfect, it is about being consistent. Let’s help our students take advantage of this clean slate and make the most of what is ahead.
Remember, small steps lead to big results. Let’s make Quarter 2 our best one yet!
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
First quarter is officially in the books! Thank you to everyone who put forth extra effort to turn in missing assignments or make-up a missing assessments. Our second quarter begins on Monday and every student has a fresh start in every class. Parents, please continue to monitor Powerschool. Students, recommit yourselves to being ENGAGED and doing your best work at all times. Our 1st Extravaganza is coming up on Thursday, 10/30. I hope to see everyone on the Earned Privilege list there.

Costume Rules👺
🎃 Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: Avoid costumes with violent or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing too gruesome.
👁️ Masks and Makeup: No Masks that cover the eyes and face. Please keep makeup minimal and apply it at home. Remember, learning is still happening.
🧥 Safe Costumes: Make sure your child’s costume doesn’t have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught. If they have an inflatable costume it will need to be deflated inside the classrooms.
🎒 Easy-to-Carry Props: If your child has props, they should be easy to manage, especially if they take the bus.
🚫 No Weapons: Please don’t include any toy weapons in the costume.
🏃 PE-Friendly Costumes: If your child has Physical Education on the 31st, pick a costume that’s safe and easy to move in.
