Important: New School District Cell Phone Policy!
Cell phone policy
Recent legislation required school districts to have a cell phone policy. After feedback from staff and families last fall, our district updated 505 Policy: Student Cell Phone and Technology and adopted 505 Procedure: Student Cell Phone and Technology.
This means, starting the 2025-26 school year, no cell phones or electronic device use will be allowed during the academic school day for elementary and middle school students, and limited cell phone or electronic device use will be allowed during passing time and lunch for high school students.
Please take the time to review this policy and procedure with your student(s) to ensure expectations are clear. Thank you in advance for your partnership on this.

Happy Handwashing!
Rush Creek Birthday Books
Dear Parents,
As in past years, we are once again offering a Birthday Book
program in which a family may choose to donate a new book (or two) to the Rush
Creek Media Center. This would be in honor of your child’s birthday. We have had an overwhelming response in the past and wish to thank the families who participated. It is a purely optional program. This year we are using an online shopping experience. This will allow you and your child to choose a book together. We are partnering with Wild Rumpus, a local independent bookstore. I have created a wish list of books from which you can shop. Either scan the QR code on the right or click this link Birthday Book List to place your order.
Parents do not need to create an account to pay; you have an option to check out as a guest. Please note on the order that it is for Rush Creek’s Birthday book program. Also include your child’s name, grade and birthdate. If you need help with placing the order, you can contact Wild Rumpus via email info@wildrumpusbooks.com Shop now to avoid shipping charges. I will pick up all orders placed by September 26th. After September 26th parents will need to pay shipping fees to have books sent to Rush Creek.
Close to your child’s birthday, we will have your child come to the media
center to check out their birthday book. Summer birthdays will be celebrated around the student’s half-birthday. Children with birthdays in September will check out their book in October. A bookplate will be placed in the book designating that the book was given to the Rush Creek Media Center in honor of the donor’s birthday. Once the book is returned to the media center, it will be put on the shelves for others to check out and enjoy. We hope you see this as a fun way to celebrate birthdays and reading with your child. If you have any questions, please contact me.
