Thank yous
We owe a lot of thank you's to community organizations and individuals for supporting our kids. This month alone we have had Fire Prevention & Safety presentations by the Jonesburg-High Hill Fire Department, donations from JBE PTO, Jonesburg Lions and Jonesburg Optimist for our all school field trip to Rooster's Farm, Butch and Penny Hunter and family donated pumpkins to every student at JBE, Jonesburg PD has really shown up for our students safety at the cross walk because people are struggling to stop, many volunteers and donors made the new intermediate playground a reality, our school met the goal for the Health, Hunger and Hygiene Fill the Box drive and helped many people with their donations and the Santa Shop donations are coming in.
We appreciate the generosity and compassionate hearts of our JBE community!
Pay Attention
With the temporary closing of the overpass in Truxton we have seen a significant increase in traffic in front of Jonesburg Elementary. In addition, we have noticed that many drivers DO NOT STOP at the STOP sign.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND STRESS TO YOUR WALKERS AND BIKE RIDERS TO DO THE SAME.
I want to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Officer Ron and the Jonesburg Police Department for stepping up and being present to slow people down and help keep drop-off and pick up safe!
NEW Intermediate Playground
We are excited to announce that our Intermediate Playground is in the ground and being enjoyed by our intermediate students. We will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, but wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that made the playground possible.

JBE Families please check your MCR2 "Rooms" App to see if there are any messages or posts from yoru students teacher. Many of the classroom teachers have sent messages requesting help (volunteers & donations) for the quickly approaching Harvest Parties. If you are willing to help, but didn't recieve a message, please reach out to your students teacher and let them know so that we can get you on our RSVP list. Thank you for your support!

Growth Parade and Harvest Party Parade - October 30th at 8:05
Mark your calendars to join us for our first quarter Growth Parade and our Harvest Party Day Parade. This year, they line up to be on the same day. You won't want to miss it! It starts promptly at 8:05. Guests are welcome to sit in the bleachers to enjoy the costumes and celebrate our first quarter growth.
Harvest Party & Parade
Harvest Party Parade is at 8:05 am on October 30th. Please note that the parade can be attended by everyone, but the Harvest Party is for Jonesburg Elementary students only. Please do not bring younger siblings, cousins, etc. Thank you for helping make this a special event for JBE Students.
PLEASE LET YOUR STUDENTS TEACHER KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND SO YOUR NAME CAN BE ON THE RSVP SHEET.
Fall Harvest Parties will be held from 2:30-3:30 on Thursday, October 30th. Your student's teacher should be reaching out soon for help! Please make sure you RSVP if you are planning to help with Harvest Parties so we know who to expect in our building.
Teachers may be asking for help from parents with snacks, crafts and activities for the Harvest Party. Parents will be allowed to drop snacks or activities off in the morning or during the day if you are unable to send it with your child. Please make sure it is labeled.
Snacks during the party need to be store-bought, pre-packaged and preferably healthy. Other items such as pencils, stickers, etc are always welcome. It is acceptable to send home a small treat bag of individually wrapped treats. Please refrain from sending items with icing as this could cause major messes on the bus.
Students will be allowed to dress in a school appropriate costume (read specifics later in this paragraph), wear a fall shirt, Wildcat shirt or come as themselves. We ask that the costumes are school dress code appropriate and that there are No Mask, No Inflatable Costumes, No Weapons (including swords & sabers), No Gore, and No Blood. Students will NOT be able to change during the day. If they are dressing up, please make sure it is something they can be comfortable in for the entire day and that it is not a distraction to learning.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Have you made your appointment yet? Make sure to communicate with your students teacher to sign up for a time to discuss your students progress. Our goal is 100% participation from our JBE Families. Help us connect with you to celebrate your student!

This year JBE will be hosting Stars, Stripes, and Snacks before the celebration for our veterans. If your veteran would like to attend, please mark that on the RSVP. Students may attend with their veteran with parent permission. If you have a veteran you would like included on our Wall of Honor, please follow the link to add them if you haven't in the past. https://forms.gle/VdA3xv2VR8TuKJ889

MCR2 Extracurricular Activity Expectations
Since fall sports and activities are in full swing, we are sharing the expectations for spectators. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
MCR2 athletics and extracurricular activities are an important part of our school culture, and our
students benefit from their peers, family and community members' support at these activities. In
order to maintain an enjoyable environment for all, the district requires that guests follow some
basic expectations to help make the activities a safe and fun experience for all spectators.
● Drugs, alcohol and tobacco (smoking, vaping, etc.) are strictly prohibited on our campus.
● Pets are also prohibited on our campus, any animal on campus should follow BOE policy
about service animals.
● All spectators are required to remain within the general area of the activity they are
attending (outdoor events-concessions area or in the stands, indoor events-concessions
area or in the gym). Patrons are also not permitted to be throwing balls, or other objects,
during the activity.
● We require elementary and middle school students to attend with a parent, guardian or
responsible adult (18 or older).
● Please park in designated parking spots only so that all other areas of the buildings are
accessible as needed. For outdoor events, special permission is required to park inside
the gates (between football stadium and baseball diamond).
Attendance is Important
Thank You for helping us meet our goal of keeping our building attendance above 95%. As a building we are trying to help students understand the importance of their attendance and have emphasized it in their Data Folders as well as on light up boards in the front window and in the hallway outside the office! Thank you for helping get your student to school healthy and ready to learn!
August Attendance - 96.69%
September Attendance - 96.50%
Please make sure that you call in (833-662-6228 press 5 then press 1) prior to 8:30 if your child is going to be absent so that we can record the reason before we begin making contact. If communication is not received in regard to student absences a few things may happen.
- You will receive an automated message letting you know your student is absent.
- You may receive a personal call from our office staff.
- You may receive a visit from our SRO, or Kylee Waite, our MCR2 Social Worker.
- You will receive our 3-day, 5-day and 8-day attendance letters regardless of calling in. These letters are board policy and are sent to all student families when they hit the 3, 5, & 8 day threshold.
- As a building we are striving to be higher than a 95% average EACH MONTH.
JBE Save the Date
Morning Drop Off Procedures
This is a reminder that only students & staff will be allowed in the building during morning drop off time. The entrance by the powercat will be open at 7:30. The drop off line is for people to pull up, drop off and drive away. You are welcome to walk your student to the front door. If you wish to get out with your student, PLEASE PARK in a spot to do so. Parking in the drop-off line creates confusion and is not safe for our students.
For the first two days of school, parents/guardians WILL BE allowed to walk their student to the classroom. We ask for your cooperation in making this drop off as quick as possible to minimize the number of guests in the building at one time as our students will be learning new procedures. School starts at 7:50 with a virtual morning assembly. When that begins, we ask that all parents/guardians exit the building.
Please help us prepare your student for the first day. If your student does not want to eat school breakfast, they should go directly to their classroom. If your student is eating school breakfast they should go to the cafeteria, get their grab and go breakfast and then go to their classroom to eat.
Students that ride the bus will need to know upon entering the building if they are eating breakfast or not. This will help us get them into the correct line.
Food Money
We encourage you to fill out a Free & Reduced Meal application to see if you qualify.
If you do not qualify and your student eats meals at school, the fees are as follows:
Full price breakfast - $3.30
Full price lunch - $3.70
Reduced price breakfast - $0.30
Reduced price lunch - $0.40
Extra milk and milk break costs $0.50 per student no matter the free and reduced status.
Students are not allowed to charge more than $10. If your student owes more than $10 then they may be offered an alternative meal in lieu of the daily lunch choice.
Please send in meal money in a labeled envelope. If you are interested, there is an option to pay online through the online parent portal.
Past due balances will be sent home most Friday’s and texted to you..
District phone reminders for balances under $5 will begin soon. You are welcome to send in money or pay online at any time.
As always, if you have any questions, please call the Jonesburg Elementary Office. 833-662-6228 ext 4101.
Clothes & Shoes recycling Bin at JBE
We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.
