Important Reminder: After-School Transportation Changes
For the safety and well-being of all students, it is essential that any changes to your child’s after-school transportation are communicated to the office no later than 2:30 PM Monday–Thursday and 1:30 PM on Fridays.
We understand that emergencies can arise. However, as a general rule, if we do not receive notification by the times listed above, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate the change. In such cases, your child will follow their regular dismissal plan (e.g., riding the bus).
Please help us ensure every child gets home safely by calling the office at 425-385-4700 with any transportation updates. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
To ensure safety and efficiency during drop-off and pick-up, please follow these guidelines:
- Drop-Off: Stay in your vehicle. Have your child exit on the curbside (passenger side/right side) for safety.
- Pick-Up: Stay in your vehicle. Once you reach the pick-up zone, we will call your child to your car. They will enter on the curbside for safety.
If you need to get out of your car, please park in a designated parking area. Parking is available in the school parking lot or along adjacent streets (including 23rd adjacent to the school parking lot). Do not park in the carline including along the fence on 23rd or in the bus zone on Pine Street. All other areas are open for street parking.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and our traffic flow smooth!
EPS Immigration Enforcement Policies and Procedures
Everett Public Schools (EPS) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students and families—regardless of immigration status.
Policy 4300: Community Relations and Immigration Enforcement
- Equal Access: All students are entitled to a public education, regardless of immigration status.
- School Safety: Immigration enforcement agents (e.g., ICE) are not allowed on school grounds or at school events without a valid warrant or court order.
- Privacy Protection: EPS does not share student immigration status unless legally required.
- Family Engagement: Immigration status will never prevent families from participating in school activities.
- Welcoming Environment: EPS values and respects all students and families, including those from immigrant backgrounds.
Procedure 4411P: Working with Law Enforcement
- EPS does not ask for or record immigration status.
- If immigration agents request access to a student or school site:
- Staff must deny immediate access and notify district leadership.
- The superintendent or general counsel will review the request, credentials, and warrant.
- Agents must provide written authority from specific federal officials.
- Parents/guardians will be notified, and district staff will be present during any interview.
- Agents will only be allowed access as strictly defined by the warrant.
Everett Public Schools is committed to protecting the rights and well-being of all students, and on this topic in particular by limiting immigration enforcement on school grounds in compliance with the law. The relevant policy and procedure ensure that immigration status will not interfere with a student’s access to public education and that the district will not voluntarily cooperate with immigration authorities without proper legal authorization. The overarching goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where all students can learn and thrive.
Attendance Matters: If you show - you grow!
We look forward to seeing your child at school every day. Regular school attendance is important, and we will work with you to ensure your child is present to benefit from an excellent education. If your child is absent, please email our attendance email address, gaeattendance@everettsd.org.
If email is not possible, please call 425-385-4705 to report the absence. Please make sure there is an email or a written note within 30 days after your student returns to school.
