We appreciate our DANCE volunteers!

What an incredible night at our Wildcat PTO Dance!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the evening such a success. From decorations to logistics to every thoughtful detail in between. Your dedication to our school community truly shines.

We are so grateful to our wonderful room parents and teacher volunteers who gave their time and energy to ensure everything ran smoothly. A very special shoutout to Maria Lopez Ellison, who led the event from the school personnel side with such organization, heart, and leadership. We appreciate you more than you know!

Thank you as well to the incredible students from the Northview Beta Club for assisting throughout the night. Your service and support made a big difference. And of course, our amazing DJ kept the energy high and the dance floor packed all evening!

Most of all, seeing the smiling faces on our Wildcats made the night unforgettable. It was a joyful celebration of community, connection, and school spirit.
We are so proud to be part of such a supportive and spirited Wildcat family!

ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Short Month, Big Impact

February may be the shortest month, but it’s packed with learning. Missing just a few days can have a big impact on progress. Missing 2 days in February means losing 10% of instructional time for the month. The late bell rings at 7:40 AM. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time. Please email lewyl@fultonschools.org, WCESResidency@fultonchools.org and copy your child’s teacher when your child is absent.

Wanted 2026-2027 SGC Candidates

WCES will have two parent seats and one staff seat available on our School Governance Council for next school year. Serving on the SGC is a two‑year commitment, and members typically spend about 1-2 hours per month supporting school initiatives through meetings, trainings, and events. The SGC plays an important role in shaping our school’s strategic direction and supporting decisions that impact our students, staff, and community. Parents interested in declaring candidacy may visit the SGC Elections website between February 2 and March 27 to submit their declaration. For questions, please email: schoolgovernance@fultonschools.org

FCS Safety Priorities

Safety Update for Our Families

Beginning this week, our superintendent has introduced a new Safety Section in his weekly Friday communication. We want to share these expectations with you so our entire school community—staff, students, and families—remains informed and aligned.

Our Commitment to Readiness

The district continues to evaluate how prepared we are to respond to a major crisis. While we have strong systems in place, our superintendent has emphasized that there is still important work to do. District leaders have been charged with strengthening our processes for emergency preparation, response, and communication so that we can keep every student and staff member safe.

Badge Requirements for All Employees

To ensure a secure environment:

  • All employees must wear their Centegix Alert Badge and district Employee ID while on school property.
  • Badges must be worn on a lanyard or positioned above the waist, clearly visible and easy to access at all times.
  • School‑purchased lanyards are allowed, and district‑provided lanyards are available for staff who need them.

These expectations help us ensure that only authorized personnel are present on campus at all times.

Reducing Accidental Alerts

Families should also be aware that the Centegix safety system our staff uses includes a badge with emergency alert functions. To maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of this system, staff are being reminded to avoid accidental activation:

  • Pressing the button three times is used for urgent but non‑life‑threatening situations, such as medical needs or altercations.
  • Repeatedly pressing the button triggers a hard lockdown, which results in an immediate and significant response from district leaders and law enforcement.

Reducing accidental alerts ensures that when we do call for help, the response is swift, appropriate, and fully focused.

WCES Carpool Update:

Introducing Our New Traffic Officer & Important Arrival Reminders

We are pleased to share that Officer Patrick Carroll will be joining Wilson Creek Elementary as our new traffic officer. His start date is expected soon, as we are currently waiting for final approval from the district’s Contracting Department. We look forward to welcoming Officer Carroll to our campus and appreciate his partnership in keeping our students and families safe during arrival and dismissal.

Morning Traffic Reminders

To maintain a safe and efficient arrival process, please remember the following procedures:

Traffic Flow

  • After 7:10 AM, drivers traveling from Medlock Bridge Road may not make a left turn into the school.
  • U‑turns are not permitted at any time during morning arrival.
These rules help maintain a steady traffic pattern and protect the safety of all students and families.

Family Expectations

We kindly ask all families to:

  • Follow the established traffic pattern
  • Remain patient and courteous with other drivers
  • Follow staff directions during morning arrival

Consider Bus Transportation

To help reduce congestion, we strongly encourage families to use bus transportation whenever possible. Increased bus ridership significantly decreases delays and enhances overall campus safety.

Thank you for your cooperation and for supporting a safe, smooth, and predictable arrival process for our students each morning. If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to our front office.

Attendance Matters ALL DAY, EVERYDAY

TAKE ATTENDANCE SERIOUSLY

It’s common for students to experience a significant increase in chronic absenteeism during the winter months due to an increase in typical illnesses. If your child must be absent due to illness, please email WCESResidency@fultonschools.org, your child’s (1) legal first and last name, (2) teacher’s name, (3) all the dates your child was absent, and the (4) reason for missing school. Please also copy your child's homeroom teacher on the email. It is important to include a photo or scanned image of the doctor’s note, if you take your child to be seen. If your child is missing a lot of school due to illness, please reach out to our clinic assistant, Ms. Ankita Doshi, for guidance. Chronic absenteeism occurs when students miss 10% or more of school for any reason.

Additionally, it's important that kids arrive to school on time every day. Please remember that our car rider line can back up closer to 7:30. Consider being in line closer to 7:10 or by having your child ride the school bus to prevent tardies.
