Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to learn, connect and grow. Missing just two days each month can add up to four weeks of lost learning by the end of the school year.
Every Day. All Day. 97% Attendance goal for 2027.

Umbrella Drive
With rain in the forecast, we want to make sure our students can safely and comfortably navigate between our two buildings. We have umbrella containers located at the doors of our two main entrances, but we could use a few more umbrellas to help meet the need.
If you have an extra umbrella at home that you no longer need, please consider donating it to our campus. Our students often forget to bring an umbrella, may not check the weather, or simply aren’t prepared when the rain arrives. Having a few extra umbrellas available can make a big difference!
Thank you for helping us take care of our students and for your continued generosity and support of Aledo High School!

Grading Update
Weeks 8/9 | Cycle 1 | Semester 1
Please be sure to log in to Skyward Family Access regularly and check your student’s grades and academic progress. Staying informed throughout the grading cycle allows you to celebrate successes, identify areas of concern, and provide support when needed.
Questions to Ask Your Student About Their Grades
Celebrate the positives
- What class are you most proud of right now? Why?
- What is something you’ve improved on this grading cycle?
- Which teacher or class has been going especially well for you?
Understand the grades
- Are there any grades in Skyward that surprise you?
- Do you have any missing or incomplete assignments?
- Is there a class where you feel like your grade doesn’t reflect how much you understand?
- What assignments or assessments have been the most challenging?
Identify areas for improvement
- Which class needs the most attention before the grading cycle ends?
- What could you do differently over the next few weeks?
- Is there anything you need help understanding?
- Have you talked with your teacher about the class or your grade?
Encourage ownership
- What is one goal you want to set for the rest of this grading cycle?
- What is your plan to improve or maintain your grades?
- What can I do to support you without doing the work for you?
- Is there a resource at school—teacher, tutoring, Flex, counselor, etc.—that could help?
Featured Collaborative Team
Congratulations to our AHS Algebra 1 Team (Ashley Brown, Jill Edgington, Katherine Dinges, and Victor Blanton) on being recognized by the district as a Featured Collaborative Team!
Their outstanding teamwork, commitment to sharing ideas, and focus on doing what is best for students exemplify the power of collaboration and the impact it can have on student learning.
We are proud of the work they do each day to support our students and one another. This is #GrowingGreatness in action!
Curriculum Night Winners
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night on September 16! We appreciate the time our Bearcat families took to come learn more about their students’ classes, connect with teachers, and experience a little more of what makes Aledo High School special.
A special congratulations to Sailer and Preston! Both students completed their Curriculum Night Signature Page by visiting their teachers and collecting all of the required signatures. Their completed pages were entered into our drawing, and both students are the lucky winners of a gift card for a family meal at Dayne’s BBQ!
We love finding ways to celebrate our students for being engaged, taking ownership, and getting involved. Thank you to all of our families who participated in Curriculum Night, and a special thank you to our teachers and staff for making the evening such a great experience for our Bearcat families!
LEAD
Celebrating Our Aledo LEADS Bearcats!
Today, we are proud to highlight students who were nominated by their teachers or staff members for demonstrating what it means to be a Learner, Empathetic, Accountable, or Dedicated Bearcat.
These students are making a positive impact on our campus through the way they approach their learning, support others, take ownership of their actions, and give their best effort each day. Their actions represent the kind of character we want to see throughout the Aledo community.
Please join us in congratulating and celebrating these outstanding students for being great examples of Aledo LEADS!
Campus Clubs and Organizations
Clubs and Organizations Parent Consent Form
In accordance with Senate Bill 12 passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, school districts are required to obtain written parental consent before allowing a student to participate in a school-sponsored club or organization.
Please review the list of clubs and organizations at your child's school and indicate your consent below. A separate form will need to be completed for each student.

The Go Center is back up and running!
The Bound for Success program is a partnership between UTA and Aledo ISD where a dedicated College and Career coach works on our campus 2 days per week. When here, they will be working with students on college applications, financial aid, and so much more. While they do work for UTA, they can partner with you to help you with any college or technical school application to ensure you have the support you need. These partners have a wealth of knowledge in post-secondary planning and will work with our Counseling Team to bring another layer of service and support for our AHS students!
Students can request to see them by scanning the BFS QR code on their door outside of the Library!
Parents and students may send the reps an email or schedule a virtual meeting here: https://appt.link/kattya-cepedas-meetings-m6kqjxvh
kattya.cepeda@uta.edu or mariska.debruijn@uta.edu
Kattya and Mariska are back this year and ready to assist you in the AHS Go Center! Kattya will be here on Thursdays and Mariska will be here on Mondays in Room 1118!
Student IDs
At Aledo High School, the safety and security of our students, staff, and families is always a top priority. One way we strengthen campus safety is by requiring all students to wear their school-issued ID badge whenever they are on school property during the school day.
Students received their ID badges during Bearcats Are Back. If your student did not receive their ID, they can pick it up in the cafeteria during their assigned lunch.
Please help us reinforce this important safety expectation by reminding your Bearcat to wear their ID badge around their neck and keep it visible at all times while on campus.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure campus for all of our Bearcats!
Testing
AP Exam Registration
Taking the AP exam is an important part of every Advanced Placement (AP) course. Aledo High School encourages all students enrolled in AP courses to take the corresponding AP exams.
AP Exam Fee: $105 per exam
Our goal is for every student to have the opportunity to take their AP exams. Students who need financial assistance should contact Mrs. Silvia Marin at smarin@aledoisd.org or visit her in DNG B103 to learn more.
Two Steps Are Required to Register
Step 1: Register through Total Registration
Visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/440065 to indicate the AP courses you are taking and the exams you plan to take. At the end of registration, you will receive the College Board join codes and instructions for Step 2. Exam fees are paid online, so please have a debit or credit card available when completing registration.
Step 2: Enroll through College Board
Use the join codes provided during Step 1 to enroll in your AP courses and exams through the College Board system.
Please complete both steps to ensure your AP exams are ordered.
College Board assessments—including the PSAT, SAT, and AP exams—are standardized tests designed to help students prepare for college and track academic progress. Students may be eligible for testing accommodations; however, these must be approved by the College Board through a separate request process.
Please note: Accommodations provided through your student’s ARD or 504 plan in Aledo ISD do not automatically transfer to College Board assessments.
This is a one-time process. Once approved, the accommodations will apply to all College Board tests, including the PSAT, SAT, and AP exams. If your student has already been approved, no further action is needed.
To request accommodations through the College Board, please complete the form at the link below:

Football
The Aledo Bearcats’ 136-game district winning streak, dating back to 2007, ended Friday, Sept. 25, with a 35-21 loss to Arlington Martin.
Aledo led 21-10 at halftime and remained in control into the third quarter, but a fumble near the goal line proved to be a key turning point. Martin rallied in the fourth quarter, taking its first lead and adding a late touchdown to secure the win.
The Bearcats enter the bye week at 2-3
