Eagle Ridge- eThursday Folder
September 11, 2025
Message From the Principal
It’s a great day to be an Eagle!
Tomorrow is our Fun Run, and we are so excited to see our students out on the course! As we continue to focus on setting personal goals, this is a perfect opportunity for your child to think about a goal they would like to achieve during the run. It might be the number of laps, running the whole time, or simply giving their best effort.
Whether they meet their goal or not, encourage them to reflect afterwards on what was going through their mind while they were participating. Did they feel motivated, determined, tired, or proud? These reflections help students build resilience, self-awareness, and confidence—skills that matter far beyond the run itself.
I am so proud of our students for their dedication and commitment to being just a little better each day. I love hearing their thinking during class and seeing how they are able to explain what they are learning. Their growth mindset is inspiring, and it shows in everything they do. I look forward to seeing everyone out on Friday cheering on their children as they challenge themselves and support our school!

From the Counselor's Corner
We're hopeful everyone's school year is off to a positive start as we transition to Colorado's beautiful fall. This year, the counseling department at Eagle Ridge is partnering with Douglas County Public Schools district wide initiative of integrating Social Emotional lessons in the classroom through the program, Wayfinder. Until fall break, all K-12 students are learning the importance of kindness and inclusivity through Douglas County's anti-bullying campaign.
One way you can partner with Douglas County's initiative is to speak with your student about the definition of bullying and how we can "See it-Say It- Stop It".
The definition of bullying is repeated intentional meanness. We all make mistakes or can bring each other down sometimes. It's important to say sorry and repair the relationship. Bullying is when the other person doesn't stop and isn't sorry. When this happens, we need student's help to "See it- Say it- Stop it." It's important if someone sees bullying or is being bullied, they speak with a trusted adult so we can help stop it and ensure that every student is included and valued.
Lastly, the counseling department will be integrating small group work into our departmental practice. If you believe your child could benefit from practicing or developing new social-emotional skills within the context of their peers, please reach out to Ms. Lieber or Ms. Miller to see what groups are available.
We look forward to learning and growing with your student this year!
