The Sheiko Weekly Update
Sheiko Elementary: January 10, 2025
PRINCIPAL UPDATE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We’ve had a fantastic first week back after the break, and I am so happy to see our students back in action! Our "Big Announcement" this week is that NWEA testing starts Monday. Please check your child’s Friday newsletter to see which days your child will be testing.
I’m also excited to share that our school will be hosting a Day of Design for 4th and 5th grade students on Wednesday, February 14th with the theme: "Fall in Love with Your Design." This event will give our students a chance to showcase their creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration while learning about sustainability and the importance of reusing materials. If your student is not in 4th and 5th grade, but you have some great materials to donate, your child can drop them off to any 4th or 5th grade classroom.
To make this event a success, we need your help! We’re collecting recyclable materials for the students to use in their projects. Below is the list of items needed:
- Cardboard: boxes, tubes, egg cartons
- Paper: newspapers, magazines, scrap paper, wrapping paper
- Plastic: clean bottles, caps, containers
- Metal: aluminum cans, foil
- Fabric: scraps, old clothes, towels
- Miscellaneous: buttons, string, yarn, rubber bands, bottle caps
Please ensure all materials are clean and safe for handling. Donations will be accepted through February 14th. Thank you in advance for helping us make this a memorable event for our students!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Gooooooooooo Lakers!
Educationally Yours,
Blaine McDowell
