Weekly STAR Family Updates
Let's begin with a wonderful praise of all of our students for their performances last week! What an outstanding show of student talent and wonderful teachers who prepared them all year for these events! GREAT WORK STARS!
This week is fairly simple with events as we prepare for the following week. Please see below the testing letter that will be going home to ALL families on Monday, May 18th. The dates are very tight and we do not have many days for make ups. Please note the dates and do not make any appointments on those days. Also, if your child is in a tested grade, please note that early dismissals can only happen if the testing session is concluded. We are not permitted to have children start late or leave early according to state testing guidelines.
Our third grade will be going on their rescheduled trip to Old Salem this Wednesday. Please remember this field trip is all day and being on time to school is extremely important. If your child is not on campus at the time the buses leave, they cannot go. They will assigned to another classroom for the day. Please also mark your calendars for the Memorial Day holiday, May 26th, with no school for students or staff.

Thursday, 05/29 - 3, 4, and 5 ELA EOG, no specials
Friday, 05/30, 3, 4, and 5 Math EOG - no specials
Monday, 06/02- 5th grade Science and make up testing for all 3 and 4th who missed
Tuesday, 06/03 - 3rd Grade RtA testing for eligible students, make ups for 3, 4,and 5th
Wednesday 06/04, 5th grade picnic. 3rd and 4th grade awards ceremonies. 3rd at 12:30 and 4th at 1:15
Thursday, 06/05 make up testing and beginning of reteaching. 1st and 2nd award ceremonies. 1st at 9:30 and 2nd at 1:15
Friday 06/06, 2nd day of reteaching. Kindergarten awards ceremony - 1:15 pm
5th grade dance after school
Monday, 06/09 - K/1/2 field day - times to come ASAP
NO PARENT TRAFFIC IN THE BUILDING AT ALL DUE TO TESTING RETAKES
Tuesday, 06/10 - 3/4 field day, times to come ASAP

Wednesday, 06/11 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!
If your child will be a new bus rider, attending a new school, or has had an address change for next school year, you should complete the 2025-2026 online Transportation Preference form by Friday, June 13th to guarantee transportation on the first day of school.
If your child rode the bus during the 2024-2025 school year as an eligible student and there has been no school change and/or address change, families do not have to apply for transportation for the 2025-2026 school year.

We need your help! This year it is super important for all to register in advance for Kindergarten so that all new students can be in our system before the state switches us over to another data base.
