February Employee of the Month: Mrs. Richardson!
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Victoria Richardson has been named the February Employee of the Month! Recently recognized by the Rock Island Office of Education, Mrs. Richardson was nominated by her colleagues for being a problem solver and for being collaborative.
Known as the "first to offer help," she is a dedicated collaborator, frequently inviting colleagues into her classroom to observe and share ideas. Whether she is leading team projects or serving on the social media team, her initiative is impactful. She doesn’t just wait for solutions to appear; she actively initiates brainstorming sessions to tackle challenges, serving as a go-to problem solver for many.
Her support extends deeply into the technical realm, where she has become a wonderful resource for IT troubleshooting and integrating new technology into lesson planning. Beyond her professional expertise, it is her heart for our students that truly sets her apart. She builds lasting relationships that extend far beyond the final bell, often seen cheering on past and present students at sporting events. This month, we celebrate her commitment to our staff, our students, and the entire school community. Congratulations, Mrs. Richardson!
Your Voice Matters: The Illinois 5Essential Parent Survey
We invite you to share your perspective by participating in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey. This brief, confidential survey allows you to provide essential feedback on our school’s climate and learning environment. By sharing your thoughts on key areas like effective leadership, collaborative teachers, and involved families, you help us celebrate our successes and identify meaningful ways to grow. Your input is a vital part of our school improvement process and ensures that the parent voice is heard as we plan for the future.
Completing the survey is quick and easy, taking only about 10 minutes of your time. We need at least 20% of our parents to participate in order for a specific parent report to be generated for our school—reaching this threshold is critical to ensuring we have a complete and accurate picture of our community's needs.

Our next PTA movie night is Friday March 13th. Doors open at 5:30, movie starts at 5:45 in the school gym. We are watching Zootopia 2. Free admission, concessions for sale, cash only, or people can bring their own snacks. An adult must stay with their student and monitor their behavior; drop offs are not allowed.
