Dear 6th Grade Parents and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you well. We wanted to update you on some important activities and discussions that took place in your child's classes this past week.
Character Strong Lessons and Townhall
This month, our 6th graders have been focusing on the topic of bullying in their Character Strong lessons. To reinforce these important concepts, we held a townhall meeting where students had the opportunity to:
- Discuss ways they feel included at school
- Share ideas on how to make others feel more included
- Explore the concept of "belonging" at school
Upcoming Community Agreements
On Wednesday, students will be working on developing community agreements in their English Language Arts class. This exercise aims to foster a sense of shared responsibility and mutual respect within the classroom.
Math and Emotional Well-being
Last week, our math teachers conducted a unique lesson on "worries and wonders." This activity encouraged students to express their concerns and curiosities, helping to create a more supportive learning environment.
Your Involvement is Crucial
We encourage you to engage with your child about these Wednesday lessons. Ask them what they've learned, how they feel about the discussions, and what ideas they've contributed. Your interest and support can greatly enhance the impact of these important life lessons. Remember, our goal extends beyond academic education. We are committed to helping your child develop into a well-rounded, productive citizen. Your partnership in this endeavor is invaluable.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Best Regards,
Ms. Brunson
6th Grade Assistant Principal
