Dear Booker Families, Staff, and Scholars,

We are incredibly proud of our scholars for the outstanding job they did during this week’s STAAR Reading assessment! Our students were laser focused, confident, and motivated, creating an exceptional testing environment across the entire campus. This level of commitment reflects the hard work of our teachers, the encouragement from our families, and the determination of our scholars to succeed.

A special thank you to our parents and guardians for your support. Our 98.5% STAAR attendance is strong and speaks volumes about your partnership with us. While we always aim for 100% participation, we understand that circumstances may arise. As we prepare for upcoming testing windows, we ask for your continued support to ensure every scholar is present and ready.

Please help us by ensuring your child is:

  • Well-rested
  • Encouraged and motivated
  • At school every day and on time
  • At school the entire day - No early pickups on STAAR Testing Days

Daily attendance is critical, not only for testing, but also for real-time enrichment and targeted interventions that strengthen student performance and campus ratings. State assessments provide valuable data that helps our campus, district, and the state make informed decisions about instruction, support systems, and student growth.

Please know that our school nurse and our counselors are on standby to support any student who may feel unwell or require medical attention during the school day. We are committed to ensuring that all students feel safe, supported, and ready to do their best.

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to excellence. Let’s keep the momentum going! Booker is getting better, faster! Each day, we strive for excellence in Culture, Academics and Results!

Proud Principal,

Keisha Womack

STATE TESTS ARE IMPORTANT! YOUR CHILD'S PARTICIPATION & PERFORMANCE MATTER!

Mindset of Mastery – No Mediocre Thinking Allowed

Booker Families,

Please take time to encourage your child and remind them why it is so important not to rush, but instead to do their very best on every test. District and state assessments matter because they help schools make important decisions about the support and opportunities students may need. A child’s performance can help determine whether additional academic support, intervention, summer learning, or enrichment and advanced opportunities may be recommended for the upcoming school year.

Assessments such as STAAR and TELPAS provide valuable information about your child’s academic progress and language development. These results help schools identify strengths, address learning gaps, and plan the right instructional supports to help each child grow. They can also help guide future academic pathways and readiness for more advanced coursework and opportunities.

State assessments and screeners serve as important indicators of student progress and college, career, and military readiness over time. They give schools and families a snapshot of how students are performing and where additional support may be needed to ensure long-term success. That is why we ask every student to slow down, stay focused, and give their best effort on every assessment.

So we need your help more than ever now! For the next fews weeks, we will need you to support and encourage your scholars to:

  • Do their BOOKER BEST ON EVERY TEST
  • BE HERE ON TESTING DAYS

  • BE ON TIME ON TESTING DAYS

  • BE READY & LASER FOCUSED!

  • BE KIND AND RESPECTFUL TO THEIR PEERS & STAFF

  • BE WILLING TO WORK & LEARN

  • BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER

  • BE THEIR BEST SELF

  • BE AN ADVOCATE FOR THEIR OWN ACADEMIC SUCCESS

  • BE A PROUD BENGAL!

  • BE THE ONE THAT MAKES SOMEONE DAY!

STAAR IS HERE! IT STARTS THIS WEEK! LET'S KEEP THE MOMENTUM DONE!

GUESS WHO WILL BE MOVING ON UP, SOON? GUESS WHO WILL BE MOVING ON UP, SOON?

  • Spring ISD families, staff and community members — we want your feedback. Two Feeder Pattern options have been developed for the 2027–28 school year, and the district is seeking community input before presenting a recommendation to the Board of Trustees. Please review the two options and share your preferred feeder pattern by completing the survey.

Deadline: May 1 at 5 p.m.
Take the survey at http://www.springisd.org/FeederPatternSurvey

Your feedback will help guide the decision that will shape feeder patterns beginning in the 2027–28 school year.
