SMU Presidential Library Field Trip

We have been given the privilege to go on a district lead field trip to the SMU Presidential library. You should have seen the permission slips come home on Monday. This field trip is free!

  • Permission slips are due back by next Thursday, April 6th
  • We have been told we are only allowed to have one chaperone per homeroom. Once we get all the slips back, we will do a random name pull from those who have said they are interested in chaperoning on the permission slip. We will let you know by the following week if you were chosen. If you put that you were interested, please make sure your background check is already completed with the district.
  • We will be gone all day, we'll be leaving around 9:30 and getting back to school around 3:00.
  • Students will need a lunch, please check whether or not they will bring one or need to get one from the cafeteria before we leave.
  • If you are sending them with a lunch, please make it a completely disposable lunch so they don't have to walk around with it afterwards.

Hurts Donuts

Our amazing community has pulled together and made it possible for every student to get 1 donut at lunch time on Friday, courtesy of Hurts Donuts!

If your student has a food allergy, please send an alternate treat for them so they can partake in the fun!

EOY MAP Testing

We will take our last round of MAP testing starting next week! Please help us remind your student that these are just to help us see their current levels. There will be questions they don't know how to answer, that is how the test is designed, and it is ok!

End of Year Celebrations

It's hard to believe that the end of 5th grade is so close! We always end the year with some fun activities for the kiddos to remember 5th grade and elementary school. Here's some SUPER SECRET information about one of our favorite traditions!

SHHHH....IT'S A SECRET

Graduation is about tradition and looking back to celebrate achievement. As a memory and keepsake; in addition too, continuing a 5th grade tradition, we are asking parents to create/purchase a Fathead Sign for graduation. This is not mandatory but a fun way to make the day special. Please see the below for details.
