Brief Note from Mrs. Nidlinger

Fall is officially here, and it's my favorite season. Cooler mornings, football on Friday nights, and yes, pumpkin spice everything!!!

Go Warriors! Congratulations to our fall sports teams on a great season! Our girls volleyball team won the LSAA regular season title, going undefeated in league play. They'll play in the conference tournament semifinals this Saturday, October 3, at 9:00 AM at Concordia Lutheran High School. If they win, they'll play in the championship at 1:15 PM.

Our boys soccer team is also having an amazing season and has advanced to the LSAA Championship! They'll play under the lights at Zollner Field this Saturday at 7:15 PM. Come out and cheer on both teams!

End of Q1: We are coming up on the end of the 1st quarter on October 13. This is a great time to start focusing on some good habits at home. A few minutes each night makes a big difference here are some tools that can help your child be successful!

Read every night. 10-20 minutes is the goal. Let them pick the book. Reading together counts too!
Practice math facts. Flashcards in the car, quizzing at dinner, whatever works. Quick recall frees up their brain for the harder problems.
Get online practice in.
- K–2: Log in to Lexia at least a couple times a week - if you need login information reach out to your child's teacher.
- 3–8: Work on the IXL skills their teacher has assigned. Even 15 minutes a few times a week keeps what they've learned fresh.

You don't need a big plan. Just be consistent.

Mark your calendars for Parent Teacher Conferences on November 4 & 5. It's a great chance to see how your child is doing and what to work on next.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! We're holding a card drive for our amazing pastors. Please send in a special card from your family, and we'll pass them all along. Cards are due by October 26. If you'd like to tuck in a gift card, that would be a wonderful blessing for them too. We are blessed with amazing pastors leading us. Let's shower them with gratitude! 🙏

Easter egg hunt! To encourage everyone to read the Weekly a little closer, we've hidden the 🕵🏼‍♀️ emoji somewhere in this newsletter (this one doesn't count!). Let us know where you find it, either by email or by stopping in the office, and you'll get a small treat as your prize.

I hope you find time to enjoy the leaves 🍂 , the bonfires🔥 and your favorite fall drink🔥.

Winter Sports Updates

Winter sports seasons are coming up quick. There will be a mandatory parent meeting for all winter sport athletes on October 7th at 6 p.m. in the main gym. During this time student/parent expectations will be reviewed and also will be discussing the various volunteer needs and what each entails. Starting with this winter season, volunteer slots will be assigned to participating student athlete's families instead of utilizing sign up genius for sign ups. A message from Bellmont High School Athletics

Bellmont High School Athletic Department loves to see the stands filled and the attendance in supporting our student athletes at our home events this year. This attendance has been accompanied by a substantial increase in the number of younger students opting to play in various open areas around the facilities, creating a supervision and safety concern. In the last two home football games, supervising staff have had to address multiple injuries and disruptive behaviors of some youth spectators.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all spectators, Bellmont High School will no longer allow footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, sports equipment, or any other recreational items to be brought into athletic events, including football games.

Any balls or sports equipment brought into the stadium will be confiscated upon entry or when discovered during the event and will not be returned until the conclusion of the game.

This policy is being implemented to:

Improve spectator safety
Prevent disruptions during contests
Protect participants, spectators, and facility property

We encourage students and families to leave all sports equipment at home or in their vehicles when attending Bellmont athletic events.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we work to provide a safe and positive game-day environment for everyone.
