Message from Mrs. Tostaine

Eagle Families,

We have two weeks left of our first quarter. Students are engaging in discussions and learning how to work as a team during STEAM activities. So many positive things are happening at Lanesville Elementary.

Next week begins our first ILearn Checkpoint in grades 3-6. I hope you enjoy the weekend with your families and students are well rested when they come back on Monday. Grade 6 will be testing Monday and Tuesday. Grades 3-5 will test Wednesday and Thursday. As always we encourage students to be in school especially on testing days. We appreciate your help with making sure your child is in attendance on those days.

I shared many positives about Lanesville Elementary to our School Board. The 5th grade volleyball team were the Crawford County Tournament champions. The 6th grade volleyball team had a winning season going 6-2. Our overall school attendance is 97% this year and we had over 90% participation during our Parent/Teacher conferences. If you have not met with your child's teacher please reach out and hear the positives from the classroom.

Fall Break is quickly approaching, but we are still learning. Please remind students to stay focused and ready to learn. We still have so much more to work on before it is time for a break.

Mrs. Tostaine

Arrival Arrival

Car rider expectations for the safety of our students.

  • Stay in line and do not go around the car in front of a car who is still unloading. We are concerned for the safety of all students as some exit the car from both sides.
  • Pull as far forward at all times which will help us with a smooth and efficient arrival.
  • All car riders should enter the parking lot and follow the line of cars toward the Elementary school.

Volunteer Background Check Information Volunteer Background Check Information

This is a new process and everyone needs to have a background check if you want to volunteer or chaperone at school. This background check will be good for three years.

Please note: If you are currently employed by Lanesville Community School Corporation (teacher, substitute teacher, paid coach, or other staff member), you do not need to complete the volunteer background check, as you already have an employment background check on file.

Important Information:

  • Cost: $23.40
  • Valid for: 3 years
  • Processing Time: 5–10 business days
  • Background Check Portal: https://lanesville-community-school-corporation-vol-sp.school-background-checks.com/

All personal information submitted is kept confidential and is used solely for the purpose of ensuring student safety. Please be aware: The background check is a multi-step process. After submitting your information, you will receive two separate emails from KidTraks Support—one containing a link and another containing your password. You must complete the final step within 10 days or your application may expire and need to be restarted.

If you think you may volunteer at any point during the school year, we encourage you to complete your background check before school begins.

Are you having issues applying for the background check? Use this guide to help with any issues. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z0GNIWy5ULYJjxGdNsuAa2NYSkwE08-Soz6zvQuCndo/edit?tab=t.0
