Manufacturing Day

On October 30, Sand Creek Schools participated in the national event known as Manufacturing Day (MFG Day.) This event invites manufacturing firms, schools, students, parents and community leaders to open the doors to modern manufacturing and showcase the careers and opportunities within the sector. This event is organized collaboratively by local schools, the LISD TECH Center, manufacturers and economic‐development partners. Sand Creek had a group of about 30 8-12 grade students participate. They visited Uckele in Adrian and ThermalFab in Blissfield. Sand Creek Schools would like to thank these business partners and the LISD Tech Center for bringing this event back to Lenawee County Schools.

Ryan Kleindienst

Did you know Sand Creek has over 13 students participating in a work study/apprentice program? The Aggie Academic Center recognizes that there are many paths to learning and this is just one of many!

This week's featured student is a senior at Sand Creek. Ryan began his vocational training at the LISD TECH Center in the Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing program. After receiving his training he was able to secure a paid internship with the company 4Point Support Services. Through this program, Ryan is able to earn money and gain vocational experience during his school day.

The Counseling Center would like to continue to recognize the LISD TECH Center for all of their hard work partnering with us and helping us to support and secure these placements for our students at Sand Creek.
