We will be trying to go outside on Tuesday and Thursday this week during class time if the weather permits.
Students should be prepared with:
- Change of clothes
- Tennis shoes
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen!
Success in marching band is built one rehearsal at a time. Every rehearsal introduces new music, drill, and choreography that become the foundation for everything that follows. When students are present, on time, and fully engaged, they improve more quickly, strengthen the entire band, and help create the level of excellence we are striving for together. Every member has an important role, and when someone is absent or arrives late, the entire group feels the impact.
We know that appointments and conflicts are sometimes unavoidable, but we ask families to make rehearsal attendance a priority whenever possible. If you have flexibility, please try to schedule routine appointments on Wednesdays, which are typically our indoor rehearsals during class. By protecting rehearsal time and arriving on time, students not only set themselves up for success, but they also demonstrate commitment to their teammates and help the band reach its full potential. Every rehearsal is an opportunity to move one step closer to our goals.

Our first performance on September 19 will be here before we know it, and it's time to begin fitting students for their marching uniforms!
We're looking for 6–8 parents to join our Uniform Crew to help ensure every student is fitted and performance-ready. No prior experience is necessary—we'll show you everything you need to know.

⏰ Band Fee Deposit Reminder – Due August 25
Just a reminder that the first marching band fee deposit is due August 25. The easiest way to make your payment is to visit www.rockhillbod.com, click Pay Fees, then Band Fees to School.
If your family is experiencing financial hardship, please don't hesitate to reach out. Fundraisers and fee waivers are available to help ensure every student can participate.

Staying hydrated is THE BEST WAY to make sure that you have a great band camp experience!
Every student MUST have either a 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon insulated water jug for band camp.

Each year we co-host a marching band competition with the Northwestern HS Band called the Olde English Festival of Bands. This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, bringing in close to $15k for the band program!
This year Olde English will be on October 17th at District 3 Stadium!
We need ALL parents to please keep this date open to be available to fill a volunteer shift! Our parent volunteer force is critical to making this a successful day!
FIND YOUR ONE!
One of our biggest fundraisers of the year is our Mattress Fundraiser on August 15.
The most important thing for families to know right now is this:
We are not asking every family to buy a mattress. Instead, we're asking every student to "Find Your One."
Think of one friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, or acquaintance who may already be planning to purchase a mattress this year. Invite them to attend our fundraiser before they buy anywhere else.
For every mattress purchased under a student's name, that student receives $100 credited to their band account to help offset band fees.
Our Rock Hill High School Band Boosters play a vital role in making our program successful, and we'd love to have every band family involved!
Membership is completely FREE and is a great way to support our incredible students, connect with other band families, and help create an outstanding experience for everyone in our program. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there's a place for you.
