A Message From Mrs. Carmody A Message From Mrs. Carmody

Hello, Fremont Families!

Fall has arrived and with it comes cooler temperatures. We need to ensure that every child has a change of clothes at school and that it contains clothes for the coming weather. More information below.

As the days grow shorter and our schedules stay busy, maintaining strong sleep habits is one of the most effective ways to support your child’s growth and classroom success. Elementary students thrive on 9 to 12 hours of sleep each night. Consistent sleep schedules directly improve focus, memory retention, and emotional regulation during the school day. Establishing a predictable evening routine, helps signal that it’s time to wind down and ensures your child wakes up energized and ready to learn.

Have a wonderful weekend with your family!

Sincerely,

Beth Carmody

Principal

Miss Hoehne’s kindergarten class enjoyed having one of our very own bus drivers pop in as a guest reader. Our students loved seeing their driver swap the steering wheel for a storybook. It was a fantastic reminder for our young learners that reading builds connections all across our school community!

FastBridge Family Report - Coming Today! FastBridge Family Report - Coming Today!

Please look for your child’s reading FastBridge Family Report in their Friday folder. This assessment, given three times a year, provides valuable information on our students’ progress towards reading proficiency. The report will show how your child is currently progressing towards grade-level expectations and how they compare to peers both nationally and within the FSD79. This overview guide (English, Spanish) can serve as a helpful resource when reading the report.

While these assessment results are strong indicators of academic growth and proficiency, they are not the only measure of your child’s progress. When thinking about how well your child is performing academically, please take into consideration your child’s daily school performance, classwork, homework, projects, quizzes, and classroom tests.

If you have any questions (or your child’s report does not make it home) we encourage you to reach out to their teacher.

Food Safety Update Food Safety Update

Earlier this school year, out of an abundance of caution, Quest Food Service temporarily removed iceberg lettuce and fresh jalapeños from our FSD79 cafeteria menus due to a Cyclospora outbreak linked to certain fresh produce. While there were no known links to our school dining programs or food suppliers, Quest took proactive steps to ensure the safety and peace of mind of our students and families.

Quest has worked directly with its distributors to verify sourcing and ensure safe, reliable inventory was in place before returning the affected ingredients to our programs. Effective immediately, Quest is resuming serving iceberg lettuce and fresh jalapeños in our dining programs. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Extra Clothes Extra Clothes

We kindly ask all parents to send an extra, labeled set of seasonally appropriate clothing (including shirt, pants, underwear, and socks) to be kept at school, regardless of your student's grade level. Accidents, spills, or unexpected muddy activities can happen to students of any age, and having a spare set on hand allows us to quickly and comfortably resolve the situation without having to call home and disrupt your day. If the spare set is used, please remember to send in a replacement set the next day. Thank you for your cooperation!
