Dear MUMS community,
We had another productive week here at MUMS! We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership in their learning journey.
As a reminder, parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for next week, and we encourage you to sign up if you haven’t already. Additionally, please remember to check in with your child about their grades in PowerSchool, which is an excellent way to stay informed about their progress and address any questions early.
Keep in mind that next week is a four day week due to conferences. Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!

Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
This week in 7th grade music, students are exploring how musical composition communicates emotion and serves as a universal language. After learning about elements of aesthetics of music in cinema (like pitch, tempo, and instrumentation), students show their understanding by re-writing the score to a short piece of cinema. Students need to combine artistic expression and communication with technical skills of sound design, editing, and mixing. After they’ve produced their new score, they also need to reflect on their learning and think about their overall growth as a music/artist. Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
