St. Mark Weekly Update
St. Mark Weekly Update - 9 September 2026
Welcome to St. Mark's Weekly Update!
It has been a busy start up as our population continues to grow! At of the time of this update, we are 249 students!
With this growth, we have added staff (and some changes) which occurred over the summer months. Joining us in WIN Jr are T. Reiter (TAOT), E. Smits (TASL) and O. Ogunmakinwa (E.A.). Joining us in Generations is C. Lewis (teacher). We hope you are able to meet our staff tomorrow, Thursday 10 September, at our Meet the Teacher BBQ (6:00) and program (6:30 pm). We look forward to seeing many of you there.
These past few days, students have spent some time reviewing school expectations and familiarizing themselves with the changes which occured over the summer. A copy of the student handbook, which is in the front of the students' agendas, can be found here. This copy is available for translation for ease of understanding. We encourage our families to review this information with their child over the next while.
We look forward to meeting and reacquainting ourselves over this school year!
Wishing you a blessed week.

Yellow Bussing (WIN Jr. & Generations)
Bus Delays
Over the last week, we have had several calls about the buses.
Please know we have the same information as families through the BusPlanner Delay app. We encourage families to use this app or bookmark the website version to find out where your child's bus is if they are late. With traffic in Edmonton lately, there have been many delays.
Please see our division website Yellow Bus Delays for more information.
We also recommend your child and yourself watch this division video about bus safety.
Picking up your Child rather than the Bus
- the school is informed (phone, email, note to teacher) PRIOR to the bus leaving the school, and
- the family is at the school at dismissal time.
âť—Should families not be at the school at dismissal, we will send students home on the yellow bus unless we receive a phone call confirming a late arrival of parents. Supervision of students ends at 3:18 pm. Families must arrive prior to this time in order to keep their child at the school.
Soccer (Football)
Soccer tryouts are happening Wednesday and Thursday this week. Team rosters will be announced on Friday or early next week.
Good luck to all our athletes!
Centre for Arts and Music St. Mark Rock Band
The Centre for Arts and Music (CAM) will be running their Wednesday after school Rock Band for St. Mark students.
Students are invited to join each Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 pm. Students do not need to know how to play and instrument, but students need to be dedicated to the program and attend each week. A snack is provided by the program on these Wednesdays.
The first meeting will be on Wednesday 16 September 2026. Students should plan to attend this meeting. Parental information will be shared along with permission forms.
