CLEARWATER STEAM NEWSLETTER
Home of the Dolphins -February 3 - 7, 2025
Welcome Back Clearwater Elementary STEAM Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! As we begin our celebration of Black History Month, we have a meaningful opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of African American history, culture, and contributions. This month is a time to foster appreciation and respect for the richness of Black heritage and its lasting impact on our world.
Why We Celebrate:
- Honoring History: Black History Month allows us to reflect on the struggles, achievements, and resilience of the Black community. Learning this history helps build empathy and understanding among our students.
- Expanding Perspectives: By incorporating Black history into our learning, students are exposed to diverse experiences that broaden their worldview and enrich our school community.
- Inspiring Future Generations: Highlighting the accomplishments of Black leaders, innovators, and trailblazers provides students with role models who demonstrate perseverance, excellence, and the power of making a difference.
- Building Inclusivity: Celebrating Black History Month reinforces our commitment to an inclusive and equitable learning environment, ensuring all voices and contributions are valued.
Black History Expo/Peace & Unity Walk

PAINT WITH A LOVED ONE
A heartfelt thank you to the Paint with a Loved One Committee (Ms. Folker, Mrs. Mendoza, Ms. Prout, and Ms. Volpe), your dedication and hard work made this event a memorable experience for our community, and we deeply appreciate all that you do! Your efforts in preparing the cafeteria and creating a warm, welcoming space made for a truly special evening. Families had the opportunity to connect, enjoy each other’s company, and create a beautiful painting that will be cherished for years to come.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Attendance Matters - EVERY Day / La asistencia importa: ¡CADA día
There is so much learning going on every day at Clearwater - we don't want our students to miss a moment! As much as we like long weekends, missing a Monday or a Friday can have a big impact on students' achievement. We want to see every student at school, every day. Students earn Splash Cash for attending school each day, and DOUBLE the Splash Cash if they are at school every day for the week - including Monday and Friday.
