Rincon Community News #5
September 7, 2025
Principal Weekly Message
Greetings Rincon Community,
Thank you to all our families that joined our Back to school night this year. It was record attendance for us and we could not be happier. Engaging families and the community in the life of the school is a goal for Rincon this year. Families are key partners in the education of their children.
Often there can be a misconception that by the time students get to middle school, families can step back. More than ever, this is the time to stay engaged and we value how you contribute to the academic and social life of the school. We need you to be strong partners and encourage you to have your voice heard, share ideas, participate in any way you can. This year we have several family events planned, the first being, Coffee with the Principal on Friday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m.. Save the date for a family LEGO Building night, October 22nd. Details will be coming soon.
Together we are better in setting up our Bulldogs up to B.A.R.K (Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kindness) for success!
With gratitude,
Principal Meglich

Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture. While we celebrate Hispanic and Latino communities beyond this month, from September 15 to October 15. Hispanic Heritage Month provides an additional opportunity to explore the incredible impact Latinas and Latinos have had on the United States for generations.
Here's one event coming to our students to kick-off this celebration. Loteria at lunch event.
Organized and facilitated by our counselors and social worker. This is the first of several events planned to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.

Do you want your student to explore Japan this summer through EF tours? Our social worker, Ida Batiste, is leading this wonderful opportunity for our school community. This is a travel learning event through EF Tours and not an EUSD event open to Rincon families that would like to participate.
The program flyer outlines trip details and itinerary. This can be picked up in our front office. For additional information visit the EF Tours website .

The BARK MART
The BARK Mart (our student store) opened this Thursdays during Lunch. The BARK mart is our student store that takes Bull Bucks to purchase fun items. Students earn Bull Bucks in many ways, from demonstrating our pillars of B.A.R.K., Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kindness. The earn different denominations and use them in the student store.
Bull Bucks are earned by students when they show their true Bulldog 🐶 spirit and BARK (Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kindness). By practicing these values we foster a safe and welcoming community of academic excellence for ALL.
Volunteers are needed to support our lunch BARK mart on Thursdays. Contact our Family Liaison, Jovanna Arellano, joarellano@eusd.org.
