IS@HP November Family Newsletter
11/1/2026
🌎 Hello International School at Harris Park Families!
Happy Sunday, and welcome to November! 🍂
As we begin this month of gratitude, I want to thank you for the many ways you support our students and school. Reading together, encouraging your child, celebrating progress, and staying connected with teachers all help our children learn and grow. We are grateful for your partnership!
🎃 Thank You for a Fun Finish to October!
What a wonderful turnout for our Trick-or-Treat Hallway! We welcomed 245 children and 190 adults for an evening of costumes, treats, and time together. Thank you to every family who joined us—your participation helped make this such a special event! 💙
We are also grateful to our families and staff who donated candy, snacks, and small treats, prepared our hallways, and helped with the festivities and Halloween activities. Seeing our community come together to create joyful memories for our children is something I truly treasure.
Thank you also to everyone who supported our Panda Express fundraiser. We appreciate the many ways you show up for our school!

⏰ Time to Fall Back!
Daylight saving time ended today! Please make sure your clocks are set back one hour. Keeping bedtime and morning routines consistent can help students adjust to the time change and arrive ready to learn.
🍬 A Friendly Candy Reminder
We hope students enjoy their Halloween treats at home! Candy is not allowed at school. Thank you for helping your child leave candy at home and pack snacks that will keep them fueled for learning.
🌎 November International Theme: Celebrations Around the World
This month, students will explore Celebrations Around the World! We will learn about the different ways people celebrate special occasions, honor traditions, and come together with family and community.
These conversations help students take pride in their own identities while building curiosity and respect for others. Every family has its own traditions, and we look forward to learning about both our differences and the connections we share.
At home, talk with your child about a celebration that is meaningful to your family. What makes it special? Are there foods, music, clothing, decorations, or activities that are part of your tradition?
💛 November Social-Emotional Focus: Gratitude and Teamwork
Our social-emotional learning focus this month is gratitude and teamwork. Students will practice noticing and appreciating the people who help them, expressing thanks, and working together toward shared goals.
You can support this learning at home by inviting your child to:
Notice something they appreciate: “What is something you are thankful for today?”
Recognize someone’s help: “Who helped you today, and how could you thank them?”
Practice teamwork: Work together to prepare a meal, tidy a shared space, or complete a family project.
Reflect on working together: “How did each person help? What made us a good team?”
Small, everyday moments give children meaningful opportunities to practice appreciation, cooperation, and kindness!
