Message from the Frog Pond
Hello cyber families!
A wise teacher, whose initials are Mr. Borda, once said, don’t let perfection get in the way of progress! I couldn't agree more with that statement. In many ways cyber students are always looking for the perfect answers. Cyber school is not easy. Making mistakes and learning from them is a big part of the process. With that in mind we are making some global changes to the curriculum.
One big change is giving feedback after attempting a quiz or exam twice. You can still request a retry after the second attempt, but hopefully knowing that you automatically get a retry will encourage more attempts. We also made it universal so that you can save and exit while taking quizzes and exams. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your mentor or leave comments in our feedback submission forms with your thoughts on the changes.
Thank you!
- Frog

(Poetry) Racism - by Zurisaday M.
A crowd with alien faces standing in the line of fire
A pile of chanting people creeping in the streets.
Preying loudly for freedom
All you can see are heads pocking gasping for air through the smoke
And red and blue lights flashing very bright hurting people eyes
Metal rods lifting high in the sky
And a loud whistle and voice telling everyone to stand back
(Poetry) Grief - by Amisaday M.
I need a lamp to help me wander, I need it to help me see
Into a much brighter warmer summer
I need a key to find the way out I’m eager to see a colorful rainbow over a steep mountain
Down in the peaceful meadow near a gentle river
Breathe the fresh clean air
Wake up in a pile of beautiful fragrant flowers

2024-2025 Senior Announcements
Mrs. Lewis is your college info guru!
If you are in the process of applying to college/post-secondary schools, please send Ms. Lewis an email (lewisw@casdschools.org) to let her know. She can answer any questions you have about the process, talk about schools that are appropriate for your major, etc. She has to send your official transcript to each school once you apply, so it's important that she's in the loop!

Course Requests for the Spring Semester
Students in grades 9-12 must choose new elective courses for the spring semester, which begins on January 24, 2025. A course sheet and a link to a Google doc will be emailed to your school email address in the coming days. Course requests are due no later than Monday, 1/6/25. If you do not submit course requests, courses will be chosen for you. It's critical that students in grades 9-11 maintain a full course load of 7 credits per year in order to stay on track for graduation.
Seniors, if you played your cards right, you may not need more electives to meet graduation requirements in June. Please take a minute to complete the Google doc anyway. Ms. Lewis will confirm your credits and only add the course that you need.
Thank you!!
