Gator Playbook

• The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. Parents/guardians may walk their child to class on the first two days of school. Wednesday is independence day, which means students walk into the building independently.
• During the first week, students may get breakfast between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m.
• Remember to remind your student and tell the teacher their dismissal mode (car rider, walker, bike rider, bus rider, Extended Day).
• Car riders - Please display your PikMyKid tag in the dashboard of your car.
• Walkers - For the safety of everyone, please do not park on the grass.
• Tuesday Folders (home-school communication folders) will come home on Tuesday, August 11. There are important forms and flyers in the folder, so please check it and return any necessary paperwork.
• School supplies that were ordered through PTA have been delivered to classrooms!
• VPK parents must walk in the building and sign in/out their student daily.

Bus Registration is Open!

If your child will be riding the school bus during the 2026–2027 school year, now is the time to register! All students, including returning riders, must register for transportation each school year through your Parent FOCUS Account.

Registering early helps ensure your child's transportation is ready for the first day of school.

Registration for the 2026–2027 DCPS Extended Day Program opens Monday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m.

If your child will need before or after school care, we encourage you to register as soon as registration opens. Programs fill quickly, and space is limited.
