Thank you to the families who have registered for the 2026-27 school year. If you have not yet finished registering, please complete that step as soon as possible.

Families should use the individualized “SnapCode” that was sent in the U.S. mail to finish registering. If you did not receive your SnapCode, or you misplaced your SnapCode, please contact our school to re-prove residency.

It is important to complete registration as soon as possible so the district can plan for staffing and supplies. Delaying registration could mean your student is not able to attend their neighborhood school. More info: https://bit.ly/3PXiVhJ

Lost and found

Please remind your child to check the Lost & Found before the end of the school year! We have many jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and other items waiting to be claimed. Any unclaimed items will be donated, so be sure to stop by and take a look before it’s too late.

Remind your students: no eating on the bus

There has been an increasing amount of food being eaten or left on buses. Eating food on the bus is a choking and allergy hazard. Additionally, a significant amount of food is being thrown on the floor of the bus rather than being taken home for nutrition. Please have a conversation with your child about not eating on the bus.

Keep reading! All students can check out books from Arbor View this summer

CCSD 89 students are invited to check out books from the Arbor View library this summer. Students can check out five books they can keep until the 2026-27 school year starts.

The library will be open: June 2 (9-11 a.m.), June 3 (5-7 p.m.), June 23 (9-11 a.m.), June 24 (5-7 p.m.), July 14 (9-11 a.m.), and July 15 (5-7 p.m.). Learn more: https://bit.ly/4woYbjr

Need a yearbook?

The office will have a limited quantity of extra yearbooks at the cost of $17 each. Any yearbooks purchased will be held until they are all distributed on May 26. Cash only.

Part-time preschool opening 2026-27 school year

Briar Glen is seeking a part-time early childhood/preschool teacher for a blended preschool classroom for the 2026–27 school year.

Qualified candidates must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate Early Childhood, Special Education, and English Learner endorsements. Click here to apply.

All schools will be closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day

All CCSD 89 schools will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday. The district office will also be closed. School will resume Tuesday, May 26, on a regular schedule.

Last day of 2025-26 school year will be a half day on May 28

The last day of the 2025-26 school year is a half day (morning attendance) on Thursday, May 28. Half-day dismissal times are: 11:15 a.m. at Glen Crest and 11:50 a.m. at elementary schools.
