Devices/Laptops

Hi Cooper Families,

Devices/Laptops went home with most students this week as we headed into the Wednesday portion of our hybrid schedule. I wanted to share expectations as we begin bringing our devices home each night: Make sure to charge them overnight and treat them with care by using the carry case and keeping food and drinks away. Also be sure to bring your device to school each day.

Parents, please email or call if you are having any difficulties logging in, etc. and we will help or direct you to someone who can. We understand that this is a new process for all of us and we are here to help!

Thanks for being patient!

Counselor Talk

We've made it through our first week! We can now really begin to get in the groove of being in school again. Students and staff are working hard on learning and practicing our daily routines and expectations. Two new routines and expectations that I just want to mention are the introduction of tablets or chromebooks for all students and spending more time outdoors. This year we are so lucky to have one to one technology for each student, but with this privilege comes great responsibility! Students are expected to take their device home and bring it back to school (charged) each day. We are spending a lot of time learning about our new devices and the tools we will be using so having their devices each day is very important. We also are spending much more time outside this year. Students can practice responsibility at home by making sure they are coming to school prepared for the weather.

Library News

Hello Cooper Families!

During the first two weeks, students have been learning how to login to their devices and access new apps. By the end of this week, all students will know how to put a hold on a print book at the Cooper library via Destiny Library Catalog on the Symbaloo.

The print book will be brought to students or placed in their lockers. Students will also be learning how to checkout and place holds on eBooks from Sora (Wisconsin Consortium) and Destiny (Cooper Library). Ebooks can be read on student devices.

3rd-5th grade students: Please return books from last spring in the library hall book drop.

K-2 students: Please give your teachers your library books to return for you.

**Overdue notices will be going out this Friday with students. Feel free to send me an email any time with questions. :)

From the PTA

Welcome Back to Cooper!!

We are so thrilled that our students are once again able to walk the halls of our beautiful school. This letter is to encourage you all to consider joining the PTA this school year. With the current situation our PTA will look different than in past years, but our passion to provide support for our students will not look different! We hope to come up with creative, new ways to bring opportunities to our students, and help support the Cooper Staff.

We will be holding meetings virtually to start this year off. Our first meeting will be Monday Sept. 14th at 6 pm. We will be sending out invites for a Google Hangout via email. Our meetings will be the first Monday of the month, unless school is not in session, then the meetings are moved to the following Monday. Our agenda for this first meeting includes approval of the 2020-21 school year budget, and also our committee sign ups.

Just because you become a member doesn’t mean that you need to come to all meetings, we understand lives get busy and things come up. We do encourage you to reach out to us with any questions, comments or concerns. Also, we encourage you to reach out to us with any ideas or opportunities you think would benefit our students and staff.

If you are interested in joining our PTA this year, please fill out the membership form and return it to your student’s teacher. Please make sure your email address is on the form as most communication will be sent via email, along with invites for virtual meetings. We hope to have you join us this year in showing support for our Cooper Cubs!
