Trail Blazer Bulletin Oct 7- Oct 10

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Happy homecoming week from all of us at the Trail! We are so excited to see our Trail Blazers all dressed up on Saturday for the Homecoming Dance. There are dress up themes each day, a tailgate on Tuesday afternoon and a Pep Rally on Thursday during 4th period.
Please remember that this week and next week will be a shortened week for you students with Friday being a professional learning day for staff and Monday being a staff & student holiday.
End of the first grading period-October 10
We are coming up to the end of the first nine weeks of the school year. Students, please make sure that you are aware of all of your upcoming deadlines for coursework as the last day for coursework this quarter is this Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Students please ensure that you are utilizing ALL remediation opportunities, seeking out your teachers for help, and maximizing tutorials during Mega Lunch.
Attendance Matters for Course Credit
All absences, excused and unexcused, count toward the state’s compulsory attendance law. When a student's attendance rate drops below 90%, the student may earn credit for the class or a final grade by completing a plan approved by the principal. All absences can easily be submitted in the form at the top of our campus website. Learn more about the attendance policy.

October is Fentanyl Awareness Month
Guidance and Counseling has teamed up with the Secondary ELAR department to support Fentanyl Awareness Month in October. During Red Ribbon week, students will participate in a lesson during advisory to learn about substance abuse. In addition, students in grades 6-12 will write about various topics related to substance abuse and be provided resources to bring awareness around Fentanyl. The writing prompts will be completed in English classes for all grade levels 6 -12, including GT, AP, and IB. Parents are urged to discuss these dangers with their kids.
